The Influencers is a Barcelona-based event which explores controversial forms of art and communication guerrilla, presenting independent projects that play with global popular culture, infiltrate the mass media, and transform fashions, consumption and technological fetishism.

It was one of the very few conferences i shouldn’t have missed this year. Well… i did. But life has its little consolations and the videos of The Influencers have just found their way online. Most of them at least, the missing ones will be there in the next few days. In the meantime, hurray! There is Trevor Paglen (video) and Brody Condon (video). There’s also wondrous Santiago Cirugeda (video), he speaks in spanish and one day, maybe one day, i will translate his talk and publish the text here.

Apple, The Bird, The Bee and Again.

Aspiring director/creative, Dennis Liu, has released his own viral video/commercial showcasing all the things a Mac can do. Basically, the video is set to the Bird & the Bee’s, ”Again & Again,” and acts as not only a music video for the band but as an interesting little DIY advertisement for Apple. It shows several of the computer’s programs and possibilities, including (but not limited to) Photo Booth, Stickies, Illustrator, Word, iMovie and iTunes. His video was even featured on the Unofficial Apple Weblog where they interviewed him about his video. I find it fun to watch, although at times everything moves slightly too fast for my eyes to keep up with (but we could also chalk that up to a long day at work and my eyes are sleepy). Disney Lures Families With VOD Channel


NEW YORK (AdAge.com) — Disney Travel On Demand is an interactive video-on-demand channel that launched in May 2007 with distribution through Cablevision and Time Warner Cable. Last week, the channel joined the Comcast lineup, more than doubling its distribution to 26 million homes.

ABC, ‘Desperate Housewives’ Win Sunday


MINNEAPOLIS (AdAge.com) — In a puzzling plot twist, the last scene of last night's two-hour "Desperate Housewives" finale fast-forwarded five years with a peek into how their lives had changed. ABC, however, probably wished the show could have rewound to 2005, when the breakout hit's finale delivered a 13.4/31 rating and share in the ad-centric adult 18-49 demographic.
