Muhtayzik Hoffer Study Reveals Kids Have Self-Control If Promised Annie’s Mac and Cheese Pizza

If you could immediately eat a slice of pizza and a bowl of mac and cheese or wait 10 minutes for an entire mac and cheese pizza, would you have the discipline to hold out? Would you want to hold out? Personally, I’d choose the separate dishes, but the question is the basis for a new experimental video from Muhtayzik Hoffer for the Annie’s “Good and Good” campaign.

The behavioral study is a riff on the Stanford Unviersity Marshmallow experiment from the 1960s and 70s, where kids were offered one small reward immediately versus two rewards after a waiting period. The Annie’s study is actually an inverse of this, two rewards to one, but the sentiment still comes across. The kids are all cute, and a few of them can’t wait any longer to destroy the two comfort foods. Some of the other cute kids wait it out. We aren’t given specific data, but the video is a unique, intellectual advertisement. And for the followup study, Annie’s can always track the elevated cholesterol levels of kids who become obsessed with mac and cheese pizza. Credits after the jump.

Michael Miles, Who Led Kraft and Philip Morris, Dies at 74

Michael A. Miles, the former chairman and CEO of Kraft Inc. and of Philip Morris Cos., died Sunday at his home in Lake Forest. He was 74 and had been in declining health for several months, according to Wenban Funeral Home Ltd. in the northern suburbs.

Mr. Miles was a well-traveled executive in the food and consumer products industries who helped lead Kraft through its $13-billion merger in 1988 with tobacco and beverage maker Philip Morris, then among the biggest M&A deals ever.

The first non-smoker to head Philip Morris, he triggered what became “Marlboro Friday” in 1993 by ordering a 20% cut in the price of the famous brand in an effort to regain marketshare lost to generic competitors. Consumer product stocks swooned on the news.

See A Veteran, Help A Veteran

Today is Veteran’s Day in The United States. Veterans Day celebrates the service of all U.S. military veterans, while Memorial Day is a day of remembering the men and women who died while serving.

Sadly, too many of our living veterans are suffering from post traumatic stress disorder, alcohol and drug addiction, domestic violence, poverty and homelessness. Veterans like Joe Wolf in Grand Rapids, for example.

Serving 400-500 individuals daily, Dégagé Ministries offers help and hope to homeless and disadvantaged individuals in the Grand Rapids community.

If you’d like to help people like Joe Wolf live a happier and healthier life, consider a donation to Dégagé Ministries. They’ve raised $21,845 of their $30,000 goal at this time. Perhaps a tide of particularly generous AdPulp readers can lift a few more boats.

For the record, I don’t know anyone at Dégagé Ministries. I simply like the testimonial approach and the idea that we’re not really seeing homeless people for who they are, nor who they’re capable of becoming with a little help.
