In case you haven’t heard, the ADC Festival of Art + Craft will be invading Miami Beach from April 7-9 and among the notable events that will take place is the premiere of a new documentary film series from former Ogilvy CCO/VCU Brandcenter director, Rick Boyko, dubbed InspirADCion (don’t shoot the messenger in regards to the title). The first installment in the series, which will premiere April 8, features TBWA\Chiat\Day figurehead, Lee Clow. Sure, his agency’s taken a couple of hits in the last month or so (now reportedly Crate + Barrel loss, too, which spies were hinting at last week), but Clow remains arguably one of the most notable names in the industry and will likely draw a fair amount of ADC Fest attendees to the film (well, we can only assume since we’ll be stuck in NYC). As you’ll see above and below, Clow shares his thoughts and insights on everything from agency namesakes Jay Chiat and Guy Day to Steve Jobs as well as topics like education (after the jump). Guess we’ll just have to wait for the full film to pop up online eventually.
The company is paying $1.6 billion for LIN Media, another operator of local TV stations, and will run 74 stations in 46 markets. Only Sinclair Broadcasting manages more stations.
Mother London has cooked up Chipotle's first British campaign with print ads and posters that explain how to pronounce the burrito chain's name. "Chi-Pole-Tay," "Chi-Pottle" and "Shi-Pot-Lay" are wrong. (Now they tell me. All those wasted years.) "Chi-Poat-Lay" is correct. Thanks, Chipotle!
"Delicious however you say it" is the tagline. Hey, thanks again! Cue "Farmed and Dangerous." Crank up Willie Nelson. Now, Brits can rest assured they've got the name right and savor that addictive, gut-grinding Chi-Poat-Lay bliss as the sun sinks yet lower on their once-mighty empire.

Don’t lose your voice to the note. Just vote.
This election, prove that your opinion, your values and your faith in democracy has the power to elect the leaders of this nation. Prove that vote banks cannot be bought by the black money in Swiss banks. This election, prove that you are an Indian who truly cares about India. But above all else, prove that your votes cannot be corrupted by their notes. The power lies in your hand. Just vote.

Vox Media’s The Verge may be best known for its Apple event liveblogs and product design deep-dives, but the site has also reviewed films like “Divergent” and reported on the U.S. military’s toxic burn pits.
Now The Verge has staffed up a new editor as it looks to go from a tech news site to a popular culture publication for people who grew up on the internet. Having spent the last three years as editor-in-chief of music and cultural magazine The Fader, Matthew Schnipper has joined The Verge as its deputy managing editor to oversee long-form feature writing and culture coverage.
In an age when social media has made us even more aware of how we look at any given moment ("A picture? Now? Wait, how's my hair?"), asking women to take photos of themselves without makeup and upload them to social channels seems risky. And yet, thousands are doing it in the U.K. in the name of cancer awareness.
A "No makeup selfie" campaign grew organically in Britain in recent weeks, and ended up raising several million pounds for Cancer Research U.K., even though the group initially had nothing to do with the effort.
Author Laura Lippman apparently started the trend to support actress Kim Novak, whose looks were criticized at the Oscars. Others picked up on the idea, and somehow the hashtag #breastcancerawareness and donation links to Cancer Research U.K. started getting added to the selfies. "It's brilliant it's raising so much money. It's totally unexpected because it wasn't something we planned," a rep for the group tells Britain's Telegraph newspaper.
Demandbase, a tech company that allows b-to-b marketers to tailor ads and web pages to prospects based on their corporate IP addresses, has raised another $15 million dollars, the company is expected to announce today.
The funding, led by Greenspring Associates, comes at a time of growing enthusiasm among b-to-b marketers for solutions which allow them to reach prospects outside their email inboxes — especially via digital advertising. Marketing automation software company Marketo, for instance, told Ad Age earlier this month that it plans to integrate with a programmatic buying platform within the year. Oracle may have set up a similar move with its acquisition of data management platform BlueKai earlier this month.
“I’m seeing the convergence of ad-tech and marketing tech,” said Demandbase CEO Chris Golec in an interview with Ad Age. “The reason we got into the ad side side is we wanted to solve one of the fundamentally biggest problems b-to-b marketers have, and that’s getting the right companies to their site.”
When Playtex set out to reinvent the sippy cup, it learned small things in life can make big differences.
The cups placate cranky toddlers in restaurants and are part of the social glue of the play group. When they’re poorly designed or hastily reassembled, spills and other bad things happen. And while sippy cups may be one of the more important purchases parents make from a quality-of-toddler-life standpoint, they seem too inconsequential for parents to bother researching online before buying.
Hence, when 4sight, the design firm behind the makeover, began its deep dive into sippy-cup anthropology, one of the “ah ha” moments was when moms would open up a drawer that was really a window into their secret shame.
