Twitter Hires Agency Relations Chief From Google
Posted in: UncategorizedTwitter is signaling to agencies that it’s all grown up and ready to service them the way the likes of Google and AOL do.
The company has hired a new director of agency business development, former Google exec Matt Derella, who oversaw the company’s relationship with Publicis, the world’s third-largest holding company by revenue.
Google has invested considerable resources into improving its image at agencies after building its fortune largely as a self-service advertising platform. Publicis has close ties to Google and uses its DoubleClick Bid Manager for much of its targeted ad buying. Now Mr. Derella will be tasked with establishing relationships at other ad holding companies on Twitter’s behalf.

Posted in: UncategorizedDid The Daily Beast Eat Newsweek?
Posted in: UncategorizedThe shutdown of the venerable print edition of Newsweek is yet another step in the long, inexorable march of all things print to digital — a familiar storyline.
Except when it’s not.
Many pundits will proclaim Newsweek as simply the latest in an inevitable parade of former print publications crossing over to digital-only form — following PC Magazine, Gourmet and Smart Money, to name a few. But the newsweekly faced a specific set of challenges, not the least of which came from within its own organization.
AMC’s Settlement of $2.4 Billion Suit Returns ‘Walking Dead’ to Dish
Posted in: UncategorizedAMC Networks and pay-TV provider Dish Network said they reached a settlement in their lawsuit over AMC’s claim that Dish wrongfully terminated their contract for high-definition TV programming.
The settlement includes a return of AMC’s networks and award-winning shows like “Breaking Bad” and “The Walking Dead” to Dish’s viewers starting yesterday, according to AMC’s statement. Dish had dropped AMC’s channels in July, saying that they didn’t deliver the ratings to justify their price.
“We are glad to have settled the case and reestablished our long-term relationships with AMC Networks and Cablevision,” Dave Shull, Dish’s senior VP of programming, said yesterday in a separate statement. “This multiyear deal delivers a fair value for both parties and includes digital expansion opportunities for AMC Networks’ programming.”
O show abraça o repertório mais recente de Feist, privilegiando as favoritas de The Reminder e Metals, como How Come You Never Go There, mas isso não signifca que as incríveis 1234, My Moon My Man e Mushaboom não devam aparecer.
Vale a pena.
