Não é nenhum segredo que os jogos se tornaram ainda mais populares entre os consumidores que procuram maneiras de se divertir durante a recessão, principalmente nos Estados Unidos.
Uma recente pesquisa da PricewaterhouseCoopers sugere que publicidade em games crescerá, anualmente, cerca de 13% durante os próximos cinco anos.
A publicidade em games, que gerou USD 30 milhões na América do Norte em 2004, vai chegar a USD 886 milhões este ano e saltar para USD 1,4 bilhões em 2013, segundo a PwC.
Embora a Nintendo ainda não permita publicidade em seus jogos, de acordo com a PwC, a Sony começou a permitir a publicidade em alguns jogos durante meados de 2008. Já a Microsoft tem colocado anúncios em seu Xbox 360 há algum tempo, e abre cada vez mais espaço para este tipo de plataforma. Bons ventos fluindo neste mercado. E muito do mérito se deve ao IAB (Interactive Advertising Bureau) que está sempre analisando, pesquisando e apresentando métricas e guias sobre o universo interativo. Dias atrás eles anunciaram um novo guia de regras especial para a ferramenta In Game Ad. Nossa missão é torcer para que essa tendência chegue o mais rápido possível e com mais força aqui no Brasil.

E tome mais realidade aumentada. Dessa vez, a Paramount lançou o site We Are Autobots, que utiliza RA e tecnologia de reconhecimento de face para transformar qualquer um em Optimus Prime e permitir o controle de um Bumblebee virtual.

A ação, para promover o filme “Transformers: A Vingança dos Derrotados”, foi criada pela Picture Production Company em parceria com a Total Immersion. A parte chata é que o site exige a instalação de plugin.
