Peggy Olson Stabs Her Self-Righteous Lover

This week on Mad Men, Peggy accidentally stabs her boyfriend Abe. On the way to the hospital, Abe thinks he might not make it and he wants to clear his conscience, so he tells Peggy she’s no good.

Your activities are offensive to my every waking moment. I’m sorry, but you’ll always be the enemy.

Do you have an “Abe” in your life? Someone who questions what you do for a living? Someone who looks down on you because you make a living as a commercial artist in service to brands?

Maybe Abe is just an inner voice, reminding you to do more and be more. On the other hand there’s a distinct possibility that Abe is merely a strident liberal, intent on fighting the man. It is 1968 and Abe is itching to join the Revolution in the streets. Peggy, on the other hand, wants to live in a safe neighborhood. Can’t say that I blame her.

But back to this Abe character and the real reason for this post. People with strong political beliefs tend to make the biggest mistake in the book, over and over again. They fail to connect and they don’t bother to persuade. Deeply political people don’t bother to persuade because they are so certain of the rightness of their cause that they skip right past the “why anyone should care” part.

Abe is certain that Peggy is contributing to “the problem” by serving her corporate masters. Peggy hasn’t indicated any passion for political ideas, and therein lies the non-mendable rift. Abe wants a partner in arms against the ominous state. Peggy wants someone to appreciate her for who she is — a smart successful woman — which, in reality, is a political ideal come to life.

Hospital usa fórmulas de super-heróis na luta contra o câncer infantil

Diversos hospitais mundo afora optam por criar ambientes coloridos e artísticos que contribuam com a recuperação dos pacientes infantis, estimulando a imaginação das crianças no lugar do confinamento em espaços frios e intimidantes.

O Hospital A.C. Camargo, em sua unidade dedicada ao câncer, recorreu ao universo dos super-heróis para mudar a percepção negativa que as crianças tem do tratamento.

Equipamentos e medicamentos ganharam uma nova roupagem, utilizando elementos dos personagens da DC Comics. Os soros de quimioterapia são exibidos para as crianças como super-fórmulas, em corredores chamados de Hall da Justiça, e histórias em quadrinhos que explicam a doença e motivam na luta contra os vilões.

Jenny and the Chicken simplifica o marketing digital

Era uma vez um garoto chamado Brand, que queria muito ser amigo de uma menina chamada Jenny. O problema é que Brand não fazia ideia de como fazer com que Jenny gostasse dele, então ele resolveu tentar se aproximar do mesmo jeito que todo mundo: pelas redes sociais. O problema é que isso não funcionou, já que Brand só falava dele mesmo e, claro, ninguém quer ser amigo de alguém que só fala de si mesmo.

Com toda cara de livro infantil, o Mash+Studio criou Jenny and the Chicken, uma apresentação ilustrada por Danny Mcclain que tem o mérito de simplificar o marketing digital de uma maneira lúdica e divertida. Mas essa é apenas a primeira parte da história.

De fato, o Mash+Studio usa Jenny and the Chicken não só para ensinar como as marcas devem se relacionar com as pessoas – ilustrando seus pontos com as tentativas de Brand conquistar a atenção de Jenny – mas também para apresentar seu próprio serviço, a criação de conteúdo divertido e envolvente.

Aliás, é aí que entra a história da galinha, uma metáfora para o conteúdo que é capaz de criar conexões entre marcas e consumidores.

Em resumo, o Mash+Studio aplicou em si mesmo a solução que oferece para os clientes. Não sei quanto a eles, mas a minha atenção eles conseguiram.

We created an unprecedented intervention using the search facility of Google Maps on the leisure website of the largest newspaper in Rio. Whenever people would look for bars, nightclubs or restaurants, their route would be abruptly interrupted by traffic accident icons. Trees, street post and fire hydrants would appear in the middle of the route leading people to a public awareness message.
