Poll: Is ‘Salt Sugar Fat’ Keeping You Awake at Night?
Posted in: UncategorizedPerhaps you missed the Feb. 24 issue of The New York Times Magazine that featured a woman eating what looks like a Dorito. Next to the image was a quote from Robert I-San Lin, a former chief scientist for Frito-Lay, that read “I feel so sorry for the public.” Below that were the words “Inside the hyperengineered, savagely marketing, addiction-creating battle for America’s ‘stomach share.”
In case you were wondering where this was leading, story was headlined “The Extraordinary Science of Addictive Junk Food” and was, in fact, a 9,000 word excerpt from Michael Moss’ new book “Salt Sugar Fat: How the Food Giants Hooked Us.”
Moss, a Pulitzer-prize-winning New York Times journalist, told Amazon that he got the idea for the book while “investigating a surge in deadly outbreaks of E. coli in meat [and] an industry source, a microbiologist, suggested that if I wanted to see an even bigger public health hazard, I should look at what food companies were intentionally adding to their products.”

Posted in: UncategorizedIron Man 3: O último trailer

‘Homeland’s’ Damian Lewis Appears in Jaguar’s Newest Trailer for Short Film ‘Desire’
Posted in: UncategorizedHas there ever been a branded content effort with a more drawn out teaser process? We finally get a look at Damian Lewis in another trailer for Desire, Jaguar’s upcoming short film. The style is definitely reminiscent of BMW Films, and an association with one of TV’s hottest actors certainly won’t hurt the brand, but we’ll have wait for the full movie to see if it lives up to the pre-launch hype.
Check out the first trailer over on Creativity-Online.com, and follow @creativitymag on Twitter for more great work.
Tumblr to Introduce Mobile Ads In Bid for Profitability
Posted in: UncategorizedTumblr, the 6-year-old blog network that months ago began letting advertisers pay for prominent placement, expects to make its first annual profit this year after extending the feature to smartphones.
In the first half of this year, companies will be able to promote their posts and blogs to bigger audiences on Tumblr’s mobile app, similar to the way the web version works, VP Derek Gottfrid said in an interview with Bloomberg News. Closely held Tumblr has tested the product internally and is looking to sign up advertisers to introduce it, he said.
Tumblr CEO David Karp is betting he can achieve profitability simply by getting customers to pay to make their own posts stick out.

Posted in: UncategorizedConceptual Artists Get Their Chance to (Poorly) Separate Oreo Cookies
Posted in: Uncategorized
"Maybe you should just use? a knife." That's one of the less charitable reactions to this latest Oreo Separators video from Wieden + Kennedy—part of a series in which inventors and technologists develop machines and tools that are much more complicated than a mere knife to separate Oreo cookies from their creme. (Yes, I know, what's even the point of doing that at all?) In this third video, a couple of guys from the London conceptual-art collective Dentaku do their best with a Ferris-wheel-style contraption that—well, to be honest, it's a disaster at first, though the guys do redeem themselves somewhat at the end. Our favorite is probably still the video with the toy scientists.

Domino’s Thanks 8 Million Facebook Fans by Toppling 50,000 Dominos
Posted in: Uncategorized
Domino's doesn't make much use of its namesake domino logo—until now. The pizza chain topples more than 50,000 dominos in the video below from Crispin Porter + Bogusky, as a thank-you to fans after crossing the 8 million likes mark on Facebook. I think we can all agree it probably should have been 8 million dominos, but that would have been 160 times the work—and required more than two years of nonstop work to produce, instead of the 120 hours it took for this one. Facebook milestone videos are something of a specialty for CP+B, which last year did the giant human coupon for Old Navy.

Buttered Up Dishes On Pinterest Help Feed The Hungry
Posted in: UncategorizedHunger in America. These are words that ought to be incomprehensible to us, but sadly they’re not. For 1 in 6 people in the United States, hunger is a reality.
In a nation that grows as much food as we do, this rate of hunger is a crime. Yet, we have no Hunger Police to round up the perps. So, we’re left to do what we can through direct service, charitable organizations and corporate concerns.
For example, Land O’Lakes is working with hunger-relief charity Feeding America to address the problem.
Care of Colle+McVoy in Minneapolis, Land O’Lakes new “Pin a Meal, Give a Meal” promotion encourages people to share recipes on Pinterest. For every Land O’Lakes meal pinned, the company will donate $1 to Feeding America. Miraculously, this one dollar provides eight meals to those in need.
Feeding America helps provide 37 million low-income Americans with emergency food assistance each year.
