More Ad Dollars Please

AdvertiseSpace presents seven reasons for running paid advertising on blogs.

  • Good bang for your buck
  • Easy to get started
  • Blog readers are power internet users
  • It elevates your products status
  • Blogs tend to be read by other bloggers
  • Bloggers are early adopters
  • Bloggers are very influential

Which leads me to this line of asshattery…AdPulp is an indie site with no ad network behind it, but Shawn and I would be more than happy to help you place a paid ad here.

For more information on rates and traffic and all that goodness, please contact us via our email addresses listed on the right sidebar.

Safe. From odor.

Mixed sports metaphors, high-top striped socks and an intentionally cheesy payoff. There’s a lot to like here.

Recordable TV paves way for rampant sex

Lg
Whether you’re a teen, a twenty-something or a swingin’ senior, it’s just a matter of time before carnal lust disrupts your enjoyment of television. That’s apparently why LG has created a TV with a built-in, TiVo-style recorder. Or at least that’s how they’re advertising it in this sex-fueled spot by Euro RSCG. So, does LG really want you to spend more time knockin’ junk instead of watching soccer? Well, their press release conspicuously doesn’t promise spontaneous nudity. But it does say the device’s memory is large enough “to record all 57 of the Euro 2008 games.” Man, you’re gonna be sore by the time you get around to watching all that. Via Ads of the World.

Man living disassembled life inside an Ikea

Liveinikea
I must say, it’s awfully nice of Ikea to let Mark Malkoff live in one of its stores for a week while his apartment gets fumigated. And by “live,” I mean eat, sleep and shower in the Ikea store in Paramus, N.J., all in front of a webcam (well, maybe not the shower part) for any and all interested parties to watch. I’m not sure why Malkoff’s first response to fumigation was an attempt to be a Big Wheel on the Internet, nor am I sure why he visited all 171 Manhattan Starbucks locations in a previous stunt. But this phenomenon where people think every minor phase or event in his or her life must be broadcast to all creation is certainly a curious one. And if this whole thing is essentially an ad for Ikea, it worked. I’ll definitely think twice before inveighing against their second-rate furniture in the future.

Barbie 2.0 ready for a ‘gaming experience’

Barbie_2
“The Barbie brand debuts an innovative, interactive gaming experience that gives tech-savvy girls a new way to play with fashion in today’s digital age.” Thus spoke Mattel in a press release detailing the launch of Barbie iDesign at this week’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Not since the Book of Revelation has a passage so cryptically (yet frighteningly) heralded the end of civilization. Mattel attempts to explain: “Barbie iDesign is the newest introduction from the Barbie Tech group, and builds on the success of Barbie Girls, a hybrid play experience that combines a real world, doll-inspired music device with a virtual world platform.” It’s real! It’s virtual! It’s got dolls and music! Barbie’s got a “Tech Group”! Just give us some money! I suppose we shouldn’t worry. The way Mattel’s been going, Barbie iDesign’s recall is probably just around the corner.
