I need a car that slides well, any ideas?

What’s up with the latest trend in car spots that shows the car in a massive power slide? It’s weird, if you ask me.

Life Happens Over Coffee

Pike_Place_Roast.jpg

I snapped this pic this morning at my local Starbucks. I need to go back and study it, because now I realize that the smudged chalkboard look and feel is a neat way to say “LOCAL,” even though a chain with thousands of stores can hardly claim to be a local institution. At any rate, I’m wondering if this POS really is chalked. Take a look next time you’re at Starbucks and I’ll do the same.

Digital Media Redefines Advertising

Digital Media Signages

As far as the known means of promotions and providing advertising mediums is concerned, digital media advertising is the new resort that most people turn to today. It has been hailed as the ideal means of getting ads across to a new market, especially the ones who hate to wait.

Normally, most digital media advertising campaigns can be found in the airports for captive audiences. This concept originates from the fact that whenever a person finds himself waiting for his flight or turn, he is seeking something to entertain him for the moment. Digital advertising aims to do just that.

You may be thinking that digital spending may be costly which is true. But if you are inclined to make each second count, rest assured digital media advertising is a worthy investment for vast exposure for your product or service today.

You can read more of it here at Digital Signage Today.

Sign Spinning Men of Advertising

Signage Spinners

As far as deciding on which proper mode of advertising to turn to, it is no longer restricted to the big three, namely:

  1. Television
  2. Radio
  3. Print

These are traditional advertising techniques. We have seen the evolution of other advertising strategies such as the Internet advertising era but that is too restricted to people who are frequenting the web.

With that in mind, check out the new way of advertising to get attention. The Sign Spinners who are hailed as the new sandwich men of the US are sure to get the attention of people in neighborhoods where they may be assigned. Paid at a fair $10 per hour to walk around and spin signs given to them, people are bound to take notice and become curious at what the sign being spun holds.

Cotton Candy Bubble Skirts – Heatherette (GALLERY)

(TrendHunter.com) Heatherette has created with some pretty eccentric fashions, their collections continue to take the cake in terms of colour brilliance. However, some would argue there are pieces that look much like imitations of fashions you might see among a Dior Couture collection.

Just look at the main image. …

Animated Lego – The Apprentice in Lego (VIDEO)

(TrendHunter.com) We are loving the latest version of the UK Apprentice, especially as a lot of the cast is attractive, so I love the animated lego recreation of the firing-moment.

These guys looked like prats the first time round but in LEGO, they look a million times worse. Please rest assured these are not the cr…

White Gold is White Gold

After the captivating and beautifully interactive Get The Glass, I was eagerly anticipating the next Milk campaign. I can’t say I was necessarily anticipating anything, but I was blown away by the newest campaign, White Gold. White Gold

I have yet to fully explore the site, yet the interactivity is pretty inspiring, and the campaign is bizarrely different. Odopod has done some impressive work once again. And the series of YouTube music videos with White Gold and The Calcium Twins defies words.

And as it should be, even the YouTube and MySpace pages are awesome. I have a good deal of exploring left to do, as I try to wrap my brain around the epicness of White Gold. Pretty interesting stuff for something as simple as Milk.

A Week of Comebacks and Givebacks

MINNEAPOLIS (AdAge.com) — Comebacks and givebacks backed up many of the prime-time programs in this week's Top 10.

P&G Gets Into the Record Label Business

Like a Buzz Saw, Newcastle Takes the Edge Off

newcastle-waitress-2.jpg

vitro robertson recently launched this bus shelter campaign for Newcastle. In each of the images, a glass of smooth Newcastle beer is set alongside something prickly, like a blowfish or a cactus. The part nearest to the beer is jarringly barb-free.

Bendy Bare Asses Used to Advocate Mobile Service

mobile-bend.jpg

In Punta di Penna sent us this spot for Telecom Italia Mobile (TIM). Produced by The Famil for agency Euro Rscg, a bunch of people — mostly naked, but not always — touch their toes to a cover of the Beatles’ All Together Now. All that doubling-over draws an association with the flip phone that appears at the end.

‘Gossip Girl’ getting abbreviatedly naughty

Oh good, Gossip Girl is coming back. And with a bang in every sense of the word, as one of its new promos includes an image of two characters doing the do, with the caption “OMFG.” (That F doesn’t stand for fishing, either.) See two more promos here and here. The campaign might be intended to rankle the Parents Television Council, which has targeted the CW for allowing obscured nudity on one of its other shows. We’d advise the CW not to waste time annoying people who get professionally annoyed for a living, but to each his own. On a lighter note, perhaps Gossip Girl can get Hallmark to be a presenting sponsor.

Creative Toilet Signs – Bathroom Humor (GALLERY)

(TrendHunter.com) These toilet signs are so funny, and so very creative! I particularly like the sign with the underwear and the one made with rope. But I think all five of the toilet signs are very well made. I have a gripe though. I don’t think looking at something I find humorous would help me in the least while I…

Baby Strollers with Skates – The Roller Ruby

(TrendHunter.com) The “Roller Ruby” stroller designed by Valentin Vodev, is a good idea so long as you don’t drink and drive with the baby on board.

Failed attempts at humor aside, this stroller, which comes with brakes, horn and security handlebars, tries to make a fun experience out of taking the cute little spaw…
