How will humans interact with humanoid artificial intelligence in the future? While it might still sound like a plot line for hit shows like Westworld and Black Mirror, some companies are attempting to personify what AI might be like once machines can finally interact like mankind. The personality of Sophia–a social humanoid robot developed by…

Women Execs Are Speaking Out About Diversity at CES, Yet Booth Babes and Sex Robots Are Still Prevalent

“Do as I say, not as I do” might as well be the mantra for discussions about diversity this week at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Weeks after marketers and execs slammed the conference’s organizers for its lack of solo women keynoters, numerous panels and execs are using the conference as a platform…

Why the Most Successful Digital Assistants Will Be Platform Disruptors

The Consumer Electronics Show has introduced a slew of new voice-powered devices, with Google and Amazon leading the way. The spread of Alexa and Google Assistant puts Microsoft’s Cortana in a particularly uncomfortable position, one where even the Windows PC isn’t safe from other companies’ encroachment. The lesson is clear: The most successful digital assistants…

Intel’s New Virtual Reality Content Studio Is Partnering With the Winter Olympics

Just a year after debuting a standalone virtual reality headset, Intel is pivoting away from hardware and into VR content. At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, Intel announced that it’s opening a new studio in Los Angeles to create immersive content that allows viewers to walk within a space in VR rather…

Marketers Are Racing to Reach Rapidly Growing Audiences on Amazon’s Alexa and Google Home

As brands increasingly seek to understand the Internet of Things, marketers are keying in on how Amazon and Google will dominate connected devices in 2018. That’s why Amazon’s Alexa and the Google Home–with their rapidly expanding sets of AI skills and services–will be completely unavoidable for the 180,000 expected attendees at this week’s annual Consumer…

Q&A: L’Oréal’s Head of Innovation Labs on What’s Working and Not Working With Wearables

L’Or?al thinks the big future of wearables is getting smaller. Specifically, wearables will be the size of one of your fingernails. Literally. Two years ago, L’Or?al launched a heart-shaped patch called My UV Patch with La Roche-Posay sunscreen that sticks to skin and uses Bluetooth technology to push data about a person’s exposure to UV…

How Marketers Are Turning Your Car Into a Branded Experience

While autonomous cars won’t be in every garage anytime soon, today’s vehicles have never been more connected. That’s leading marketers, agencies and automakers to transform cars into the next media and marketing platform. Radio once held drivers hostage as the only form of in-car entertainment, said Scott Symonds, managing director of AKQA Media, adding it…

What These 5 Women Are Doing to Solve Tech’s Diversity Problem

At a time when diversity remains a front-burner issue within the tech industry, this year’s Consumer Electronics Show–the tech world’s largest conference–is surprisingly lacking in, well, diversity. While, in the past, the agenda-setting conference has showcased powerhouse solo women keynoters such as IBM CEO Ginni Rometty, General Motors CEO Mary Barra and former Yahoo CEO…

Virtual Reality Hardware and Content You Should Expect to See in 2018

This year, several major tech companies are planning to debut next-generation virtual-reality hardware, promising to be cheaper–and less tethered–than anything currently on the market. Meanwhile, media and tech companies are racing to create content that people actually want to watch. “I think it’s a content play,” said Intel CMO Steve Fund. “There is not enough…

What Needs to Come First for VR to Take Off, Mass Hardware Adoption or Compelling Content?

Each January, tech experts at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas peer into their crystal balls and declare that “this is the year of something.” For about 10 years, it was the “year of mobile.” After that it was the “year of connected cars,” which was then eclipsed by “the year of smart devices.”…

What Can Brands Do With Voice Devices in 2018?

There’s no question that voice has exploded with arrival of Amazon Alexa and Google Home assistant, but with cost effective models such as the Amazon Echo Dot and Google Home Mini, brands should pay extra attention to the voice space this year. With CES around the corner, Adweek takes a look at the world of…

Intel patrocina badges do Foursquare durante CES 2010

Foursquare Intel
