Posted in: UncategorizedA man. A man and his truck. A man and his truck — and a bovine love story?
General Motors’ Chevrolet will use the giant ad stage of Fox’s telecast of Super Bowl XLVIII to send up its own painfully earnest Silverado commercials with a new spot called “Romance,” according to Tim Mahoney, Chevrolet’s global chief marketing officer.
The new 60-second commercial created by Leo Burnett, Detroit, starts off with the familiar “A man and his truck” refrain we’ve seen in previous purplish spots about hearty Silverado owners taking their sons camping or searching for a lost calf despite the danger from impending storms.
Cheerios’ Multiracial Family Returns for Super Bowl Ad
Posted in: UncategorizedCheerios is going for the cute factor in its first-ever Super Bowl ad.
The spot, which was released Tuesday night, shows parents using pieces of the cereal to explain to their daughter that she is about to have a baby brother.
The multiracial couple and the girl, named Gracie, were featured in another recent commercial for the brand that prompted some racist comments on the internet but scored well with most consumers and was considered a big hit. Saatchi & Saatchi, New York, handled that spot and the Super Bowl ad.

Ellen DeGeneres Stars in Super Bowl Spot for Beats Music
Posted in: UncategorizedTalk show host Ellen DeGeneres is going to the Super Bowl — in a commercial for Beats Music. She is expected to announce on her show Jan. 29 that she is the star of the new spot and will give the audience a sneak peak. The full commercial will preview on her program Thursday, which is also her birthday.
The 15-second snippet she drops during tomorrow’s show features her dancing to an electronic music track. But not alone. She’s busting moves with a bear — well, a person wearing a bear costume — clad in a red shirt, black sequined vest and black chunky glasses. A still shot shows more well-dressed bears and a natty suit-and-tie-clad wolf jamming as well.
Ms. DeGeneres tells the audience, “I’m partnering with Beats Music. I love them because they’re changing the way you listen to music. They have a new digital streaming service that brings you totally personalized music. You can download the app on your phone, then hear any song at any time. I recently shot a commercial for them, it’s gonna air during the Super Bowl and I’ll show you a tiny, tiny bit of that right now.” Cue Ellen and the dancing bear.

Posted in: UncategorizedDream of Beer Delivery by Drone Is Closer to Reality, Thanks to Ad Agency
Posted in: Uncategorized
Lakemaid Beer, a beer created from scratch by ad agency Pocket Hercules and sold throughout the Midwest, put out a fun new ad that explains who their primary demographic is—ice fishermen wearing dorky hats. It also shows the brew's cool new beer-delivery system—courtesy of drones.
Sadly, the awesome quadcopter delivery isn't a service they're actually providing, but there are seasonally appropriate icons on the underside of each bottle cap (fish, a weather condition, snippets of fishing lore, etc.) that are part of a cryptic bottle cap game.
As neat as this ad is, I wish they'd focused more on the bottle caps instead of the cool thing they're not doing. Via The Denver Egotist.

The iconic trams of Lisbon do not go unnoticed to anyone. Neither they nor the wires that provide them with energy and that are spread across the city’s most charismatic neighborhoods. Still, Leo Burnett Lisboa looked at these in a different way and saw a typography in its complex mesh. And like that, with the support of the Lisbon City Council, the official font Lisbon was born. On the website lxtype.pt, where it can be explored and downloaded for free, everyone can test the font and find out a place associated with each letter, transforming words in spontaneous and personalized guides of the city. To spread the idea, a film was created and directed internally by Hugo Lage and with a soundtrack kindly provided by Dead Combo.
