REDMOND, Wash. (AdAge.com) — Can Microsoft buy greater search share without buying Yahoo?
That's the idea behind the company's latest move to lure more users: Offer them cash.
The move is expected to be announced at today's Microsoft Advance '08 event and will essentially give financial incentives to users who complete a transaction after searching for a product through Microsoft's Live search. The tactic is highly unusual, although several people familiar with the plan seemed to be intrigued by its prospects.

The Love Boat Soon Will Be Making Another Run

CBS substantially increased the number of archived television shows streamed free on the Web, the latest salvo in the battle among traditional broadcasters to capture viewers online.

CBS will add episodes of “The Love Boat” and “Twin Peaks,” among other shows, to its new and vintage Web offerings. The programs are broadcast on the CBS Audience Network, a collection of online distribution partners, including CBS.com, Last.fm, Bebo and CNET Networks, which CBS Corp. last week said it plans to acquire.

To keep their issue a top priority on the public’s and the government’s agenda, we knew we had to create an impact no one could stay indifferent to.
A unique remembrance action! We invited major sites to stop their activity for five minutes, precisely one year after the kidnap, and place one same message:
