Endorphine est un projet mettant en scène l’artiste et tatoueur Supakitch. Proposant de suivre 10 séances de tatouage dans 10 villes du monde sur le même mannequin, cette première vidéo nous invite à découvrir le premier tatouage au Standard Hôtel High Line à New York. Une réalisation signée Damien « Elroy » Vignaux.

ESPN Celebrates Brazil’s Legacy and Love of Soccer in First World Cup Promo

It's 2014, which means the World Cup is back—and back in Brazil for the first time since 1950. To get fans excited (as if they needed help), ESPN has released a nearly two-minute anthem for the FIFA World Cup, which the network will be broadcasting live.

It intercuts recognizable victories with abstract visions of Brazilian culture. Best of all, it makes sure to juxtapose the famous players with the street kids of today whose love of soccer is fueling the next generation of players in what is one of the world's most accessible sports. There are no words in the spot because no words are needed. Soccer is coming back to its spiritual home. Let's hope Brazil's special riot force of 10,000 troops will be able to contain all the excitement that ESPN drums up.

Zain Raj Buys Chicago Research Firm, Expands Offering

Zain Raj, a longtime marketing-services executive has acquired Chicago-based research firm, Shapiro, and renamed it Shapiro & Raj to reflect an expanded offering. That offering will combine Shapiro’s research function, which includes everything from focus groups to tracking studies, with Mr. Raj’s forte in shopper marketing, direct marketing and analytics — what he called “transaction-driven” marketing. Shapiro & Raj also plans to offer data from social media channels.

“We’re going from being a traditional research firm to a research firm that uses different sources — instead of just providing research reports, we’re making sure we can go with much, much deeper insights,” said Mr. Raj.

He added that “what consumers say is often very different from what they do.”

Contributoria é o novo projeto experimental do Guardian Media Group, holding por trás dos grandes The Guardian e Observer.

“Era hora de criar uma abordagem diferente, uma combinação de novas tecnologias, novos processos de trabalho e novos modelos de pagamento.” – Matt, Sarah and Dan, no blog do projeto 

Funcionando como uma plataforma de jornalismo que opera em três diferentes frentes – planejamento, produção e publicação – o projeto combina crowdsourcing, financiamento coletivo e produção de conteúdo.

No estágio de planejamento, jornalistas que foram pré-aprovados na Contributoria podem propor suas ideias e pautas, que são classificadas por membros em um sistema de pontuação que dá diferentes pesos aos membros, dependendo do tipo de assinatura que possui.

Como em um modelo de crowdfunding, as ideias precisam arrecadar “bakers” (pontos) suficientes para passar para a produção.

Nesta fase, a Contributoria fez parceria com Poetica, uma plataforma que permite edição de arquivos em tempo real por diversos usuários, similar ao sistema do Google Docs. Aqui, os membros ajudam na elaboração do rascunho final.

Na última fase, o artigo é publicado no site para todos e também disponível sob licença Creative Commons. Por fim, os jornalistas são pagos através de um fundo que tem origem nas taxas pagas pelos membros do projeto.

Se tiver sucesso, a plataforma pode ajudar não só a comunidade de jornalistas freelancers com maior apoio e recompensa, mas também a repensar todo o processo de criação de conteúdo nos dias de hoje.

Coreografia reproduz partes do corpo humano

Toda vez que vejo um comercial bacana no YouTube e percebo que quem postou – cliente ou agência – não se preocupou com a qualidade do vídeo, dou uma broxada. Não consigo entender como alguém pode investir tempo e dinheiro em um projeto e ser tão descuidado na apresentação. Foi mais ou menos o que senti com The Power of Movement 2014, filme que a Lowe Roche criou para a entidade de mesmo nome.

O objetivo do filme é mostrar como a yoga ajuda a combater a artrite, além de divulgar um evento que a entidade realizará no dia 2 de março, no Canadá. Para isso, foi criado uma coreografia incrível – bailarinos e instrutores de yoga reproduzem partes do corpo que reconquistam o movimento. O tipo da coisa que seria ainda mais impressionante em HD. Ainda assim, vale o play.

Warby Parker Unveils 2013 Annual Report — and It’s 365 Days Long


Online eyewear retailer Warby Parker isn’t known just for innovating eyewear shopping. It’s also known for making another typically boring thing super cool — the annual report.

Three years ago, it released its first annual review online — a surprisingly transparent look back that included not just the year’s highlights, but missteps, as well as a slew of quirky factoids about life spent at the company. It proved so popular and successful marketing-wise that the brand has continued to release the reports each year. Today marks the debut of its third report, which co-founder Neil Blumenthal said is its most ambitious ever. Instead of a year-end summary, it looks back on every single day of the company in the last year.

The grid-like format allows visitors to pick any day in the last year, giving a peek into company successes (such as the release of its first commercial; J. Crew Chairman-CEO Mickey Drexler joining its board; the appearance of a frame in a Jay-Z video), set backs (like the day in May when half its inventory of frames was delivered to the wrong address) and its culture (it practices no-meeting Mondays; at least 20% of staffers are devoted “Dr. Who” fans).

Um dos games mais baixados em 2013, Clash of the Clans finalmente estreou seu primeiro comercial, com criação da Barton F. Graf 9000, de Nova York. Lançada no finalzinho de 2013, a animação produzida com maestria pela Psyop já ultrapassou os 15 milhões de views no YouTube.

Para que o comercial ficasse o mais próximo possível do game em si – e desta forma não decepcionar os fãs do jogo, o diretor Fletcher Moules uniu sua equipe aos game designers da Supercell, criadora do Clash of the Clans. O resultado é uma sequência divertida e envolvente, com um visual de encher os olhos.

Fashion Mags Buoy Print’s Uneven 2013


In the world of print magazines, fashion remains a stalwart.

Top fashion titles such as Vogue, Glamour, Marie Claire, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, InStyle and People StyleWatch all finished 2013 with growth in print ad pages, according to the Publishers Information Bureau, which released its end of year numbers Thursday.

However, the industry as a whole saw print ad pages decline 4.1% last year compared with 2012, said the PIB report, which tracked 207 magazine titles.
