Your brain can fool you, with lethal results

At some point in their action-packed, pre-children lives, both of my parents drove motorcycles. When I was a teenager, they distilled all their riding experiences into one bit of advice: Never ride a motorcycle. It was no slight on choppers; they just believe that other drivers aren’t careful enough to let motorcycles share the road safely. The video above, from Transport for London, is a hypnotic and jarring reminder that my parents were probably right. Via Osocio.

Sleeping girl in Hillary’s ad supports Obama

3am While we’re on the subject of Obama ads, it turns out that one of the sleeping girls featured in Hillary Clinton’s “3 a.m.” ad is an Obama supporter. Oops! To be fair, the stock footage in the ad was shot nine years ago, when Casey Knowles was 8 years old. (The Clinton campaign bought the footage from Getty Images.) But Knowles, now 17, has been campaigning for Obama, and denounces the “3 a.m.” spot as an exercise in “fear-mongering.” The Obama camp has been in touch with Knowles, and they’ve been having a laugh or two. “I mentioned that we should make a counter ad, me and Obama, against Hillary,” she says. “They thought that was really funny. They actually might take me up on it.”

Silence

I know it’s a bit silent here and believe-you-me I wish it could be otherwise, but I’ve just moved houses and I’m still waiting for my internet provider to come and hook me up. My neighbors have secured their wifi, so I can’t leech (which I would never do, obviously, I just scanned for it out of curiosity) and I’m deprived of online living until the 14th of March.

Work is getting pretty busy too, with the TechDays coming up this week where I need to present 3 days in a row for 6 hours a day. Took me a little preparation time as well to get it all worked out.

Sorry for any delays. I’ve got a few posts nearly done, like the book reviews and a few cool marketing stunts, but I lack the time to style them in a way I feel comfortable with.

I’ll get to it as soon as I can. 🙂

Take care everyone and have a splendid day!

Barack Obama flier tells it like it is goddam

Obama This fake Barack Obama campaign flier certainly captures the spirit, if not the intellectual rigor, of the presidential candidate’s supporters. Of course, most of his backers know that he represents Illinois, not Idaho, in the Senate. And Obamaniacs who own a map should recognize that Idaho isn’t even a Midwestern state. However, Illinois is, so it turns out that Obama does know “what fucking shit goes down in the Midwest goddamn.” I’ll just make sure my imaginary sister is out shopping if he ever stops by Maryland again.
