Kids Company: Print Happiness

An exclusive 3D printed toy shop to create Christmas presents for vulnerable children. Open to all from Friday 13th December to Wednesday 18th December, ‘Print Happiness’ will, with the help of donations from the public, create toys for Kids Company children who would otherwise not have anything to unwrap on Christmas Day. Six state-of-the-art Ultimaker 3D printers will create the toys live at the bustling Soho site in London. To print a toy, members of the public simply need to make a text donation of £5 to a specific number, and select the toy design of their choice.

Situés à San Francisco, les nouveaux bureaux de la startup Dropbox ont été pensés par Boor Bridges Architecture et Geremia Interior Design. Cherchant à créer une émulation entre les équipes avec des espaces collaboratifs, ces locaux sont à découvrir grâce à une série de Bruce Damonte.

SOS Children’s Village: 99 %

SOS Children’s Villages provides family based care for abandoned children. 10 children live together in 1 house. 7 to 15 houses are grouped in a ‘village’. For the renovation of their biggest village in Belgium, Chantevent, they needed funding, huge funding.
Let’s not ask money from a broad audience, let’s target those who really can make a difference: 6 captains of industry. But how to reach them? You won’t be able to get hold of them by mail, phone or letter.

Abandoned Mine Transformed into a Museum

Maynilad Water Services: Dengue Bottle

Dengue fever is the most deadly mosquito-borne viral illness in the world. In the Philippines, hundreds upon hundreds die from it every year. What people don’t know is that simple technology is available to prevent it. All it takes is clean water–plus brown sugar and yeast placed in a bottle. Producing carbon dioxide, the mixture attracts mosquitoes, trapping and killing them inside the bottle. Maynilad, a company that supplies clean water to the Philippine capital, distributed hundreds upon hundreds of these bottle mosquito traps to Filipinos.

Chocolate Paint by Nendo

Le studio japonais Nendo a réalisé en collaboration avec le chef pâtissier Tsujiguchi Hironobu un superbe coffrets contenant 12 tubes comestibles. L’étudiant à l’université d’art de Tokyo Wataru Itou a imaginé une superbe création de papier représentant un chateau. Adidas revela a bola da Copa do Mundo 2014

Em evento no Rio de Janeiro, nesta noite de terça-feira, a Adidas apresentou a Brazuca, bola oficial da Copa do Mundo de 2014.

O design parece ter pouca relação com o Brasil, mas a marca afirma que muita tecnologia foi utilizada no desenvolvimento da bola. Um processo de quase 3 anos de testes, envolvendo 600 jogadores profissionais, e feita através de uma estrutura simétrica de seis painéis que possibilitam aderência e estabilidade em campo.

O comercial (acima) é protagonizado por diversas estrelas do esporte, brincando com o que seria o ponto de vista da própria pelota. Inclui cenas no Brasil, com uma pelada no campo de terra batida, e… uma galinha. Acho que o Fernando Meirelles fez o mundo acreditar que as ruas do Brasil estão infestadas de galinhas.

A Brazuca tem até perfil no Twitter, e uma ação para divulgar o lançamento vai dar uma bola para todos os bebês nascidos no dia 3 de dezembro de 2013. Basta o pai/mãe comparecer com a certidão de nascimento da criança em dos postos de trocas listados no site adidas.com.br/copadomundo.

Vale a pena aproveitar, pois o preço estimado da bola é de R$ 400.

Diageo Australia Bundaberg Rum: Bundy Bottle

Brief: After the streets of Bundaberg were inundated by the worst floods in its history, a limited edition rum was created to draw people back to the town. Called ‘Road to Recovery’, the bottles were emblazoned with the names of Bundy’s flood-affected streets. All proceeds from the rum would be donated to restoring the streets of Bundaberg. We needed to produce a package that would capture the spirit of this idea.

Creative solution: This unique package perfectly replicates the streets of Bundaberg, reclaiming them from the floodwaters. They were auctioned off at the Distillery event, raising money for the relief effort.

Results: 6000 people came to Bundy injecting an estimated 2.5 million into the local economy. Sales of Road to Recovery raised $300,000 for flood relief.

We produced two very detailed drawings using only the Staedtler pencil, to produce a level of appeal that exceeds any photography. Drawing a profusion of flowers in bloom conveyed the ability to portray fleeting beauty, while drawing each and every wrinkle on the face of a man who has lived a long life communicated the ability to portray life.

Lucid Stead Transparent Cabin

Le studio Fuksas avait remporté en 2008 la compétition concernant la réalisation d’un nouveau terminal 3 de l’Aéroport international de Shenzhen Bao’an. Font Nerd desafia seus conhecimentos em tipografia

Você é capaz de reconhecer qualquer fonte em um projeto gráfico? Basicamente, este é o desafio proposto pelo Font Nerd, um game para plataformas iOS criado pelo designer dinamarquês Andreas M. Hansen.

Patrocinado pelo MyFonts.com, o jogo é uma maneira divertida de treinar o olho para identificar (e diferenciar) inúmeras fontes. Usando frases engraçadas (“Toda vez que você usa esta fonte um gatinho morre” é uma das melhores) ou com pequenas dicas, os tipos são apresentados. Os usuários podem escolher analisá-los em caixa alta ou baixa, e se souberem a resposta, podem digitar diretamente. Se estiverem em dúvidas, o game dá cinco alternativas, com três chances de acertar.

Na App Store, Font Nerd aparece como gratuito, mas é apenas a primeira fase. Para jogar os níveis seguintes, é preciso “pagar um café para o designer”, como diz o próprio aplicativo, no valor de US$ 0.99.
