Entire Ad Break Is Made of Lego in Delightful Stunt for Toy Company’s Movie

Here's a fantastic ad stunt orchestrated by media agency PHD on Britain's ITV. On Sunday night, the TV broadcaster devoted a whole commercial break during an episode of Dancing on Ice to airing remade versions, done entirely in Lego, of four well-known British ads—to promote The Lego Movie.

See the entire ad break here:

The first spot was an abbreviated version of the famous 2012 Vinnie Jones CPR ad for the British Heart Foundation. That was followed by 30-second ads, remade practically shot for shot, for Confused.com, BT and Premier Inn. Short promos for The Lego Movie aired in between each of the spots, followed by a proper trailer at the end.

Check out the four original ads below. Via Creative Review.

IAB To Advertisers: Time to Step Up Your Mobile Game

The Interactive Advertising Bureau primarily exists to help grow the pie of digital advertising dollars. So, as it kicks off its annual leadership meeting this week, it’s focusing on where that growth is expected to occur: mobile.

Today, the IAB — along with a group of publishers including AOL, Forbes, Conde Nast, Time Inc. the Wall Street Journal, The New York Times and more — released a letter urging advertisers to design in HTML5, a format it said would ensure ad creative renders appropriately across all screens and improves the mobile ad experience.

“You should insist to your ad agencies that your advertising creative be developed in a mobile-compatible format,” the letter reads. “And the one open, industry-standard, universal format for building mobile-ready creative is HTML5.”

O episódio acima faz parte da série Wonders of the World Wide Web, que inclui ainda Facebook e YouTube.

Food Brands Try to Wake Up Sales With New ‘Energy’ Appeals

Are you exhausted? Food marketers think you are.

From cereal to snacks and even dog food, brands are pushing energy as a selling point like never before. The newest buzzword is “sustainable energy,” meaning foods that keep you full and fueled for longer periods.

PepsiCo-owned Quaker is among the most aggressive brands trying to capitalize on America’s apparent sluggishness. A new campaign includes a TV ad showing people nodding off on buses, at work and at home, while encouraging consumers to fight the “human energy crisis” with the “good energy of Quaker” and its array of oatmeal-based products, from bars to hot cereal. The ads are by the Chicago office of BBDO, which is coincidentally known as Energy BBDO.

Tech Takes The Runway At New York Fashion Week

Maybe they should call it Function Week.

Celebrities, designers, editors, bloggers and brands descending on New York’s Fashion Week Feb. 6 are being treated not just to the latest in clothing styles but technology. Ever since Vivienne Tam created a special edition HP notebook in 2008 for Fashion Week, tech has played a bigger role on and around the runway.

“There’s a push to closely align technology with fashion,” said Rachel Arthur, global senior editor of digital media and marketing at WGSN, which is one of the major b-to-b players that susses out fashion trends for designers and retailers. Ms. Arthur, in fact, said her team is doing more real-time reporting on trends at CES and SXSW in addition to Fashion Week.

Game of Thrones divulga preview da quarta temporada
