Depois de iniciar no fim de 2009 para anunciantes selecionados, o Google traz para o Brasil a ferramenta chamada Remarketing. Ainda em modo beta, e também fechado para alguns parceiros, o produto é integrado ao Google AdWords.

Funciona assim: Digamos que você é dono de um hotel. Alguém entra no seu site, pesquisa por quartos de luxo, mas acaba abandonando antes de fazer uma reserva. Essa informação fica gravada em um cookie no computador do usuário.

Mais tarde, quando o visitante entra em um outro site com conteúdo relacionado, sobre viagens, por exemplo, o Google reconhece esse usuário e exibe um anúncio do seu hotel.

Google Remarketing AdWords

Esse “tageamento” do visitante tem uma especial função: exibir anúncios para consumidores pré-qualificados. A pessoa ter abandonado o site antes da compra não significa que tinha perdido interesse, e reconhecer suas intenções pode permitir uma comunicação totalmente customizada, oferecendo descontos ou mais vantagens para que a ação seja, enfim, concretizada.

Para que o Google gere esse histórico de comportamento, os anunciantes interessados precisam aplicar um código JavaScript em seu próprio site, com todo o resto sendo controlado pelo AdWords.

E como a discussão sobre privacidade com esse tipo de marketing baseado em comportamento é sempre uma preocupação, existe a opção para que qualquer usuário desabilite a exibição de anúncios contextuais. Para você, como pessoa e consumidor, qual vai ser a opção?
