CHICAGO (New York) — Embattled independent agency Doner — which is adjusting to the loss of its longtime CEO Alan Kalter and dealing messy legal battles — is now facing the potential loss of its biggest piece of business: Mazda. Adam Sadowsky é presidente da Syyn Labs, empresa responsável pelo novo e viral clipe do OK GO, inspirado pela máquina de Rube Goldberg, ou seja, traquitanas complicadas que através de uma reação em cadeia realizam uma tarefa simples.

Em uma apresentação no iGNiTe, Sadowsky abordou o tema “Music & Machines”, onde conta como começou o processo de criação do vídeo do OK Go, passando por detalhes e diagramas do desenvolvimento da máquina.

Entre outras coisas, ele conta de alguns pedidos da banda para o clipe: sem truques, a máquina deveria iniciar a música, estar em sintonia e integrada ao grupo, ser sujo, sincronizada com o ritmo e batidas específicas da música, terminar no tempo preciso, se mover entre dois andares em um espaço de 10 mil metros quadrados, e por fim, ter tudo isso filmado em uma única tomada.

Adam Sadowsky também conta alguns aprendizados que tiveram com o processo, que levou meses de preparação, e 20 dias consecutivos com 18 horas de filmagens cada. Assiste:
