W+K Tokyo Runs ‘Loop’ for Nike Japan

W+K Tokyo launched a new campaign for Nike Japan with the 15-second, “Loop.”

The spot shows a woman wearing Nike 3.0 Free Flynit shoes determinedly running an intense-looking loop. As the shot pans out at the conclusion of the spot and the woman makes a final leap, it is revealed that the course spells out “NIKE.COM.” The spot is meant to communicate the “Sports Start Here” campaign message, which refers to the site as a community hub for athletic enthusiasts to “search, find, support and share their performances.”

“It’s exciting to think of a website as more than just a combination of services and products, but as inspiration to be a better athlete,” said Adam Koppel, W+K Tokyo creative director. “Put all the digital pieces together and you can inspire real world performance.”

Following the launch spot, the campaign will continue with a second spot later in the month, supported by digital and social initiatives. In addition to promoting the Nike.com site, the ad is also indicative of the brand’s focus on marketing to a female demographic, which is also evident in W+K Portland’s recently launched “Better For It” campaign stateside.

W+K Tokyo and Nike Just Want to Have Fun

Here’s an energetic spot to end a short week: South Korean high schoolers love sports just as much as all teens, but the press release tells us that “many barriers” like school and family responsibilities prevent them from having a good time.

The team at Wieden+Kennedy Tokyo took to the streets to gauge their sentiments and came up with the tagline, “When Fun Wins, You Can’t Lose.”

The resulting ad stars “Korean football legend Ji-Sung Park, rising tennis player Duck-Hee Lee, K-Pop superstar Taeyang from the group BIG BANG” and a bunch of kids who just want to enjoy their soccer/baseball/basketball/running and dancing.

Don’t forget the dancing.

We’re still partial to the glow-in-the-dark basketball dude.

Zoosk, C+K Unleash ‘Heart Friend’ for Love Advice

In early June, San Fran-based Camp + King took over as the first AOR for the mobile dating site Zoosk. Seven weeks later, we herald the return of Heart Friend, the chatty heart-shaped mascot who is now doling out dating advice for inquiring users. Zoosk asked its users to post questions on Facebook, and then the Zoosk team selected the best posts for our little buddy, Heart Friend.

Each week, Heart Friend will answer one question by video for the site’s YouTube channel. This week: what to wear on a first date. Heart Friend does some rambling about men being bulls and then goes into an awkward aside about a red dress. Heart Friend has a man’s voice, but then shows up wearing a dress, which is supposed to make you laugh, I think? Cupid must already be under contract elsewhere. Credits after the jump.
