SUPRA: An Open Letter

Since March 2020, India’s 320 million students have stopped going to school. While grown-ups went about with their outdoor duties, children remained locked in, even as coronavirus choked the entire country. The absence of a normal childhood, missing face-to-face interaction with teachers and fellow students is impacting their studies and hampering their psychological growth.

So here’s a video made by students, for students, featuring Pivari Kejriwal, an animation student in the graphic lead and Prachi Joshi, a class 9 student, as the voiceover artist, along with Subhadeep Sarkar, a music teacher, as the background score composer. An open letter to India, right before the onset of the third wave, it’s a plea to follow Covid19 guidelines and curb the Pandemic for good. Just so our children can go back to school and live the rest of their childhood as they should.

Russian LGBT Network: We Will Become Better

In July 2020, Vladimir Putin changed the Russian constitution to ban same-sex marriage with an amendment that explicitly defines marriage as between a man and woman. 77% of the country’s population supported the change. At the same time, Gay Propaganda law passed in 2013 actively functions in Russia. It notoriously criminalises representations of LGBTQIA+ community and their relationships, supposedly to protect children from being exposed to homosexuality. It has also encouraged a wave of hate crimes including beatings, rape and torture that continue to this day. One year on from the constitutional change, the film ‘We Will Become Better has been released in order to challenge these offensive, narrow portrayals of same-sex relationship with a simple message: ‘Love is everyone’s right’. This is the first Russian LGBTQIA+ film in years that actually portrays a gay relationship and the country’s first anti-homophobic project aimed at decreasing the amount of hatred towards the community.

Woodie's: Owl

Due to Covid, the charity sector has been struggling for the past year. To celebrate the brand’s fundraising initiative, Woodie’s Heroes, and inspire generosity, Rothco and Woodie’s created a heart-warming ad to encourage donations.

The initiative has been running for the past six years, raising money to support four different charities. For 2021 these charities are Barnardos, Down Syndrome Ireland, Autism Assistance Dogs Ireland and Childline.

Rothco came up with an idea that unites them all (all four charities offer different services) – an owl nightlight. The watchful owl symbolises the charities which are always there looking our for children and their families across Ireland.
