É curioso como, em determinadas ocasiões, alguns temas parecem se destacar mais em meio ao turbilhão de informações a que somos expostos no dia a dia. No caso de hoje, a temática é a força da mulher, abordada de diferentes formas por duas grandes marcas, a CoverGirl e a Wacoal, uma de cosméticos, outra de roupa íntima, uma para o mercado dos Estados Unidos, outra para o mercado da Tailândia.

No caso da CoverGirl, o foco está no empoderamento feminino com a campanha #GirlsCan. O filme criado pela Grey de Nova York reúne diversas celebridades da música, televisão, cinema e esporte, que contam muitas vezes terem ouvido de alguém que não poderiam fazer isso ou aquilo. É claro que todas elas foram lá e fizeram.

Nos comentários do YouTube, instalou-se mais uma etapa de uma interminável guerra dos sexos, que obviamente não levará à nada. Sendo mulher, me identifico com o discurso, especialmente a parte em que P!nk diz que adora quando dizem que não podemos fazer algo. Porque é aí que a gente vai e faz, não só pelo desafio, mas para provar que o outro estava errado.

Só que, ao meu ver, a realidade é que o ser humano é capaz de se superar de diferentes formas, seja homem ou mulher. Mas se o seu público-alvo é feminino, então a mensagem será direcionada às mulheres. Precisa fazer escândalo quando isso acontece?

No caso destes três curtas que a CJ Worx da Tailândia criou para Wacoal – todos com legenda em inglês, a beleza e força da mulher é reverenciada de formas diferentes, contando três histórias reais. O mais legal é que os narradores são homens, que não se sentem ameaçados, mas admiram as protagonistas.

A primeira é narrada por um marido, que fala sobre o desejo de sua mulher de ficar grávida. Quando isso acontece, entretanto, ela é obrigada a tomar uma decisão que pode deixá-la entre a vida e a morte. Na sequência, nem tudo é o que parece: uma mulher é obrigada a deixar a empresa onde trabalha, enquanto no último a história gira em torno de uma jovem mãe solteira. Não sei como será para você, mas eu chorei litros.

WPP Takes Stake In Commerce Startup eCommera


WPP is taking a stake London-based commerce startup eCommera, which is also working with the holding company’s clients such as cosmetics maker Clarins and luxury shoe designer Jimmy Choo.

The investment came as part of a $41 million Series C led by Dawn Capital. WPP participated in the round and contributed an undisclosed sum.

The move reflects WPP Chief Sir Martin Sorrell’s message: that data expertise and services will be a key focus for the holding company going forward.
