Live Nation: Rock Paper Photo

If you go see a concert this summer, it’s most likely going to be a Live Nation show. They’re the biggest concert promoter in the country with venues like Shoreline, The Palladium, Jones Beach and The Fillmore. Among the artists appearing at Live Nation venues this summer are Jay-Z, Kanye West, Beyoncé, Rush, One Direction, The Dave Matthews Band, Toby Keith and many more.

In addition to being one of the largest promoters of live entertainment in the US, Live Nation also controls the largest archive of rock ‘n roll-related fine art photography ever assembled: Rock Paper Photo. Wanting to tap into this goldmine of iconic imagery before its captive audience of millions of music fans, we created a poster series that would appear on-screen at its venues before shows.

O melhor do The New Directors’ Showcase da Saatchi & Saatchi

O New Director’s Showcase da Saatchi & Saatchi tem se tornado um dos eventos mais disputados de Cannes Lions, e esse ano não foi diferente. Pensando em destacar novos talentos, a agência faz uma seleção de vídeos para apresentar ao público.

A cada edição os curtas são escolhidos pensando em um tema em comum, e “Just for Hits” foi o mote dessa vez. A proposta de extravagância visual gera muita coisa bizarra, mas tem tantas outras muito boas.

Dawkins

Eu selecionei aqui alguns dos meu preferidos, mas você pode ver todos no canal no YouTube. É possível que você já conheça alguns desses vídeos, pois muitos deles circularam pela internet nos últimos meses.

Vale dizer que quem introduziu o rolo de filmes esse ano foi Richard Dawkins, o pai dos memes, que se transformou num meme ele mesmo durante a apresentação. Na edição 2012, robôs e Daft Punk é que participaram do New Director’s Showcase.

O clipe “Treat Me Right” do diretor Ohji Inoue foi o primeiro filme da seleção. Uma animação inspirada em capas de livros soft porn de qualidade duvidosa.

O divertido e esperto “Follow The Frog”, de Max Joseph, foi o que mais arrancou aplausos da platéia. Conta como você pode ser sustentável e salvar o mundo sem seguir o clichê do gringo que tenta resgatar nativos.

“It Follows Me Around”, de Ben Liam Jones e Andy Hunter, mostra a vida de tensão que persegue um garoto, com uma mensagem de serviço de assistência a criança. Também foi outro bastante ovacionado.

“Cut the World” é outro clipe musical, com a participação do ator Willem Dafoe.

“White Doves” de Miles Jay também é envolvente.

Me impressionou ainda esse ótimo efeito com sombras de “Peter Brings the Shadow to Life”.

Foram exibidos também o comercial brasileiro “Alma” da Leica, criação da F/Nazca, e o famoso vídeo em primeiro pessoa “Bad Motherfucker”. Assista todos.

Agora, o trófeu Chá de Cogumelo de Ouro foi para “No-One Remains Virgin”, de Wong Ping. Cuidado, pode fritar o seu cérebro.
