Em 1985, alguns dos principais nomes da música daquela época se reuniram para gravar We Are the World, dentro do projeto USA for Africa. Alguns anos depois, em 1991, mais uma leva de artistas famosos se uniu no The Peace Choir para cantar Give Peace a Chance, em uma manifestação contra a guerra no Iraque. Certamente outras manifestações como estas ocorreram ao longo da história, algumas por causas mais ou menos nobres do que estas duas. No caso das menos nobres podemos citar o recente comercial da maionese Miracle Whip, que foi ao ar na noite de domingo durante o Grammy Awards.

A sátira criada pela McGarryBowen Chicago levanta a bandeira contra o preconceito sofrido pela Miracle Whip e reúne alguns esquecidos da música, como Lance Bass, do ’N Sync’s, Gilby Clarke – que fez parte em algum momento do Guns n’Roses, Village People, Susan Boyle e a ex-musa dos anos 80 Tiffany. Todos eles pedindo ao telespectador para manter a boca aberta. A julgar pelo vídeo, é inegável que alguns deles mantiveram…

If you think you know who your true Valentine is, think again. After all in this day and age of social media…ahem…stalking, the rules are very different. And Charlotte-based ad agency Tattoo Projects is out to prove it.

The agency has developed a Facebook app called From Cupid that, by analyzing your Facebook interactions, tells who who your true sweetheart is. The results may surprise you!

Earlier this month, Michael Ma joined Betterment, a mission-orientated online investing platform designed to help users reach personal goals, as the startup’s chief growth officer.

In this role, Mr. Ma, who previously ran retail advertising and prospect marketing at Vanguard Group, a nonprofit, customer-owned investment company, will focus on several areas of development, including customer acquisition, user experience, messaging and increasing users’ overall investment size.

Mr. Ma’s first task is to take a deeper look at content and community. “It’s a grassroots-type of effort,” he said. “It’s going to succeed because of the passionate user base and the content they create around [the service].”
