Além de funcionar como excelente material de divulgação do jogo, é um tipo de produção que amplia o universo da história original, e com grande potencial de atrair um público não-gamer.

A Remedy com seu esperado thriller “Alan Wake”, que será lançado em maio, também aposta nisso e lançou a minissérie online “Brightfalls”. Dois dos seis episódios programados já foram publicados no site brightfalls.com, e funcionam como um prólogo do jogo.

“Telephone” da Lady Gaga foi exaltado como uma megaprodução e extrato da cultura pop e marketeira que vivemos hoje.

Já o clipe “Born Free” da M.I.A, dirigido por Romain Gavras (filho do Costa-Gavras), mostra o outro lado. Usar a palavra “polêmico” não seria suficiente, mas o tapa na cara que é esse vídeo tem dividido opiniões.

Eu vou replicar abaixo o texto do Alexandre Matias, no Trabalho Sujo, que resumiu em um só parágrafo a representatividade desse clipe. Um comentário brilhante, que eu não teria capacidade de tecer.

Sob um verniz quase didático de publicidade-choque Benetton há uma série de paralelos desagradáveis sobre o mundo que vivemos hoje em dia. Não é só o regime militar que maltrata a vida de gente por etnia nem uma Swat americana que faz às vezes de SS ao mesmo tempo que de exército israelense ou polícia de terceiro mundo, com crianças terroristas que poderiam ser palestinas, brasileiras ou irlandesas. É também uma tentativa de fazer a cultura pop voltar a ser crítica, política, militante – e desagradável. Em nove minutos Mia e Romain pulverizam a importância de “Telephone” de Lady Gaga, tornam todo o cinema político do século 21 obsoleto e destratam todo entretenimento cultural como coluna social.
