There were quite a few interesting Karlssons Klister outdoor executions in Stockholm this week – sadly the best one (possibly) was taken down before I had time to photograph it. In that execution the entire inside of an bus-poster had been removed (no lights!) so you could look straight through it and the text read “in case of emergency, break glass”, inside the glass was a single real tube of Karlssons. Having broken a heel or two chasing after a bus I found it to be highly appropriate, and possibly even useful.
Here’s one that failed though. When advertising a super glue, the glue must work. The keys on the screen might have been “ctrl” and “z” but as you can see, now there’s only Z. They used double-sided tape, same mistake as the Sydsvenskan diary billboard made.
I saw another one as I was dashing to my train, a poster stuck slanted high up on the wall between the “real” poster sites at the central station. Didn’t have time to snap a shot, but the placement was funny.
– Here’s a trailer for The Big Bang Theory, a comedy of geek/glam stereotypes that will probably last all of two seasons. And the saddest part is, I’ll probably watch it. Debuts September 24 on CBS.
Saatchi & Saatchi has created a viral about Chris Palmer to attract entries to its New Directors Showcase 2008.
(TrendHunter.com) It’s a simple premise really – get a black cab, get an up and coming band/artist and a video camera, drive around while they play and then post the resulting footage online. Et voila: the Black Cab Sessions.

You’d expect Someecards to mention (even revel in) teenage sex every once in a while, but Hallmark? No way. Yet that’s precisely what Hallmark is doing with the card shown here (copy: “Pardon me … care for some liquid clothes remover?â€), according to Cyndi Desrosiers, a New Hampshire mother. No, wait. Actually, it isn’t at all. There’s nothing that refers to teenagers anywhere on the card, and Cyndi, in protecting the sensibilities of her 18-year-old daughter, comes off as one of those people who thought Mighty Mouse was promoting cocaine use every time flower petals went up his nose. However, she is right to point out the irony of a sex-themed card whose proceeds are going to combat AIDS in Africa. On a related note, I would love to see a Hallmark card for teenage sex.

People in Chicago must be starving after the long, cold winter there, as they have ravaged this bus-shelter ad from ampm convenience stores to retrieve the snacks inside. Ogilvy put the ad up with the idea of slowly taking the snacks away over a four-week period, to reveal the tagline, “Too much good stuff.†Area vandals shortened the campaign’s run to two days. Curiously, they didn’t seem to like the Doritos much. See the pre-vandalized ad here.
