Ford Ecosport: Go Further

“The ad that helps people to go further

In 2012, Ford launched the all-new EcoSport. It was the first global campaign with the brand’s new concept: Go further. So we decided to make a print ad that could literally take people further.

We started a partnership with a road toll company in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil – Auto Expresso – and placed pre-paid chips inside every ad. The ads allowed for one free pass through the automatic tolls.

Over 70% of ads were used as toll payment, helping the New EcoSport to achieve the leadership in its segment with record sales in december.

3. Pass through an Auto Expresso toll and have a nice trip.”

Myung Dong: Business card

Background: A tiny optician’s has been launched in a traditional market in Jeju, South Korea. The main target of this market is middle-aged men and women between 50~70 years old and the elderly.

Drawbacks: 1. The advertiser’s limited budget. 2. The elders in the area do not acknowledge their eyesight and they are accustomed to their poor vision. A specialized optometry is urgently needed.

Mission: 1. Let them experience themselves the visional discomfort with minimum budget. 2. Let them recognize ‘Myungdong optician’s=For those with low vision’

Ideas: Self-optometry business card; Create a card that examines people’s eyesight. Just reach out your hand and the business card converts to an eyesight chart.

Results: 1. Printed 500 ‘cards’ with only 30.000 Korean won. 2. Delivered 500 ‘cards’ to the surrouding business district, including the traditional market in Jeju, and 99.9% of residents particiated. 3. The majority of the clients recognized ‘Myungdong optician’s’. Also after the card advertisement, over 90% of the residents visited the optician’s in a mere month.

Marionnaud: Memory game

Marionnaud, one of Europe’s largest perfume retailers, celebrated “10 years’ expertise in fragrance”. For the jubilee we created a very special staff incentive: the first Memory game without pictures. The cards had been finished with a fragrance coating. When rubbed, the cards released the scent of ingredients used in perfume manufacture. Rub and sniff: that was the only way to identify the pairs – but no problem for Marionnaud professionals.

Tibits Vegetarian Restaurant: The Picnic Blanket Bag

Tibits is a high-class vegetarian restaurant located in Zurich, Bern, Basel, and London. But not many people are aware that you can also order food to take away. So we developed a new take-away bag: A few movements transform it into a picknick blanket and back into a bag again. Thus, tibits customers spread the message in surrounding squares and parks. The new bag is legally protected and available for free with take-away food in all Swiss restaurants and London.

Billboard: The End of the Silent Magazine

The first music magazine in the world that plays the music you are reading about. That’s the idea of the project created and developed by the Ogilvy Brazil and its digital team to make a difference for its client Billboard. Now, the readers would just need to touch their mobile phones over the Billboard’s cover and listen to a top list of music bands Billboard is talking about in that edition. How? No app downloads, no QR codes, no Bluetooth and 100% wireless. The shopper only needs to carry modern mobile with NFC (Near Field Communication) technology that comes in almost all new models. The secret of the action is a NFC sticker behind the cover that transmits the music to the consumers with a single touch. After a period of tests in selected newsstands and bookstores in Sao Paulo, Billboard Brazil publishers are now ready to change the music magazine as we know in a large scale. Readers have just become listeners.

We wanted to satisfy a need that all women have when buying clothes. Everybody likes to be told how good they look.
For all our Fashion VIP Team members we created “The first bag that raises your self-esteem”. A bag with a picture of an attractive young man with a QR code over his mouth. By scanning the code, the smartphone plays a video with the boy’s mouth telling you how well your clothes fit and how beautiful you are.

A Drop Of Life: Words from Water

Using an innovative printing technique, we created the world’s first miracle on a drink coaster. We partnered with restaurants to distribute special coasters whenever a customer ordered a cold drink. At first glance, they looked like ordinary, plain coasters. But after condensation from the cold drink began to drip down, the message became clear. People who saw the coasters instantly understood that these unnoticed few drops could mean life for those living in arid regions and were encouraged to take action to help.

Club SangueBom: The Donor Cable

Power transfusion between smartphones promotes blood donation.

Leo Burnett Tailor Made launches The Donor Cable, an accessory for smartphones on behalf of Club SangueBom.

After months of work involving creative designers and engineers, the first version of the gadget named “The Donor Cable” was born. It’s a way to transfer power between smartphones: just connect a fully charged cell phone (donor) to a receiver that needs charging, symbolizing the relationship between the blood donor and the patient.

The goal of the project is to make blood donation part of everyday life. “We offer a way to solve an everyday problem and at the same time, remind the population about blood donation. Our biggest challenge is to encourage regular blood donation” says Frederico Dutra, director of Club SangueBom.

For its launch, the Donor Cable has been made available for experimentation in all Outback Steakhouse restaurants and other spots since April. Every time someone makes a power transfusion, he knows how and where to donate blood as well.

The expectation is to increase the number of regular blood donors, and to find partners interested in producing the new gadget on a larger scale, in partnership with the Club SangueBom. All profits reverted to help Brazilian blood banks.
