Burger King: Pregnancy Whoppers

With a representative survey among pregnant women and mothers, Burger King® Germany finally reveals the myth surrounding pregnancy cravings: For 58% of the surveyed women, it is a thoroughly familiar phenomenon. 76% say that resistance to pregnancy cravings is impossible and that they are simply too strong. In the run-up to Germany’s Mother’s Day on May 8, Burger King® Germany highlights that no expectant mom must feel alone when falling for special food combinations and provides a tasty way to indulge in their pregnancy cravings.

For the campaign, Burger King® developed special pregnancy Whopper® sandwich with some of the most popular food combinations according to the survey, such as cucumber and jam, fish sticks and applesauce and curry sausage and fried herring. The entertaining campaign film shows the astonished and amused reactions of (expectant) mothers, their children, and partners to their pregnancy cravings.

Path Forward: The Mother of All Reviews

The Mother of All Reviews pays tribute to working moms in advance of Mother’s Day, and acknowledges the extra load they’ve shouldered throughout the pandemic. The video was produced in support of nonprofit Path Forward to help empower moms to restart their careers.

In The Mother of All Reviews, six unsuspecting working moms show up to their scheduled performance reviews, only to be brought to tears when they realize the reviews are from their families–not their colleagues. Their children and partners pre-recorded their feedback–messages of love and appreciation ranging from: “She was truly our Pandemic Czar” and “the matriarch of our entire team” to “She never gives up on achieving her goals.” The moms were captured on hidden camera reacting with astonishment and tears of joy.

To help celebrate the amazing contributions of working moms and all moms, the feel-good three-minute production ends by encouraging viewers to pay tribute to the moms in their lives. It also directs mothers, who may have put their careers on hold to care for their families during the pandemic and are looking to restart their careers, to visit PathForward.org.
