The nightmare scenario above could be here sooner than you think, provided Trump gets his way again. Should the worst happen, and the U.S./Mexican border close, U.S. grocery stores and […]

Do you smell that? Crack open a window, inhale deeply. Once your eyes stop leaking and the pollen-induced sneezing dies down, you can bask in the knowledge that spring is in the air. But wait, what’s that other smell? The smell beneath the smell of spring? That’s right, it’s peaches! Not just any peaches! Cling peaches, delicately arranged in yellow half-moon shapes, nestled between slices of ham? And avocado. And, uh, is that cheese? On a bed of lettuce.
Mmmm, tastes like rebirth.
This ad, which could be featured in the “’70s Dinner Party” pantheon of horrifying Instagram pics, is brought to you by the Cling Peach Advisory Board. Cling peaches are different from their freestone sisters in that the pit is not easily removed. It clings to the meat of the fruit. (What a fun sentence that was!) They’re mostly used in canning. Also, “cling” rhymes with “spring,” and that’s pretty neat.
Companies like to talk a lot about data nowadays–real-time data, operational data and, of course, big data. But when’s the last time you heard anyone gush about puppy and kitty data? Well, if Mars’ latest venture goes according to plan, we could be poised to enter the age of … pet data. The $35 billion…

Royal Challenge Sports Drink
Royal Challenge Sports Drink today launched #ChallengeAccepted, a campaign that challenges gender-based stereotypes in cricket and spotlights a world of equality that will lead to a better tomorrow both on and off the field.
In the film, Mithali Raj, Harmanpreet Kaur, Veda Krishnamurthy from the Indian women cricket team and Virat Kohli come together to say that ‘A day is coming where the world needs to become equal’ and urges fans to accept the challenge to break the barriers in their mind and to see men and women’s Cricket as one game and one team which is not divided by gender.
The campaign challenges the belief that women and men’s cricket is not on par because of the perception that women are not as strong, as fast, or as fit as their male counterparts who rally bigger crowds and fanfare. To break the myth Royal Challenge Sports Drink is asking people to support the first ever mixed gender T20 match that the brand will organize with women cricketers and the Royal Challengers Bangalore team.

AT&T’s ad unit will make a formal pitch to marketers during the TV upfront week that’s typically dedicated to major broadcast and cable networks.
Xandr will host a breakfast the morning of May 14 where it will discuss how it can help marketers target audiences and measure TV viewing more effectively.
This comes after AT&T received final legal approval in February for its $85.4 billion acquisition of WarnerMedia (formerly Time Warner). WarnerMedia, whose networks include TBS, TNT and CNN, will host its own upfront presentation on May 15.

What people are talking about today
When the Alliance of American Football debuted, CEO Charlie Ebersol dreamed of building “something meaningful and long-term.” The fun lasted just eight weeks. Now the pro league is suspending operations after its lead investor walked away. “Carolina Hurricanes owner Tom Dundon, who in February pledged to invest $250 million in the upstart spring football league, is pulling out of his commitment after paying out some $70 million,” Ad Age’s Anthony Crupi writes. The AAF shutdown is happening with a few weeks to go before the season was supposed to end April 27. As Crupi writes, that means CBS, TNT and NFL Network have some airtime to fill.
