In response to a youth obsessed culture, where women over 50 still feel increasingly invisible, L’Oreal Paris and British Vogue have partnered to launch “The Non-Issue” issue – a publication first, jointly-created by McCann London and McCann Paris to ensure that age should no longer be an issue.

“The Non-Issue” issue, which will be included within the May edition of British Vogue is in direct response to women over 50 remaining conspicuous by their absence in the beauty and fashion industries, and the wider media landscape.

“The Non-Issue” issue features the iconic actress and L’Oréal Paris ambassador Jane Fonda on the cover alongside an exclusive interview. The special edition from the editors of British Vogue includes world-class editorial, fashion and beauty content, featuring the lives and perspectives of inspirational and trail-blazing women, all over the age of 50. Other L’Oréal Paris ambassadors featured within “The Non-Issue” include Helen Mirren, Isabelle Adjani and global celebrated make-up artist Val Garland, amongst others.

The special edition also features a global first QR code, for readers to access via Facebook Messenger exclusive behind the scenes content including the “The Making of the Non-Issue”.

The May issue of British Vogue featuring the “Non-Issue” issue in partnership with L’Oréal is available via digital download and newsstands on Friday 5th April 2019.

Standard Chartered Bank: Art Gap

On International Women’s Day and with March being the Women’s History Month, Standard Chartered Bank UAE pledged that it would raise awareness about gender pay inequality and one example of this is in the world of art. This initiative comes also in line with the UAE’s vision 2021 to be one of the world’s top 25 countries for gender equality by 2021.

Held during the World Art Dubai at the Dubai World Trade Centre from 3rd to 6th April 2019, the ‘Art Gap’ exhibition aims to add local voices to the global conversation. According to the 2017 Gender Bias in Art study, titled “Is gender in the eye of the beholder?” and published by University of Oxford: art work by women sells for 47.6% less than work by men. Even where art work was produced through artificial intelligence, respondents consistently ranked works they believe to have been made by female artists lower.

The event will be an ideal platform for women artists in the UAE, to come together and make a powerful statement by painting 47.6% less.

State Farm: Hidden Talents

Did you know that State Farm is just as much an expert on life insurance as they are on home and auto? In fact, State Farm received the J.D. Power award for the fifth year in a row for customer satisfaction in life insurance late last year. Not many know this, which is why State Farm has partnered with DDB on their latest creative campaign to highlight this ‘hidden talent’ with the help of some familiar – and equally talented – faces.
State Farm’s “Hidden Talents” creative showcases the hidden talents of Ken Jeong and Terry Crews to demonstrate that the company customers know and trust for home & auto is also the company they can trust for life insurance.

The spots feature Jeong (who is an actual medical doctor) and Crews (who is a trained flutist) demonstrating their talents alongside real-life State Farm agents. In one, Crews plays his flute (and throws in a trademark pec flex), and in another Jeong examines an unusual X-Ray. In both scenarios the State Farm agents explain that they, too, have a hidden talent when it comes to providing life insurance.
