B-to-B Media Revenue Hits $27.6 Billion — a Six-Year High


B-to-b media and information revenue reached $27.6 billion last year, up 3.3% over 2013 and reaching its highest point since 2008, according to the Business Information Network (BIN) report released Friday by the Association of Business Information and Media Companies (ABM).

The BIN report measures four sources of revenue within the b-to-b media and information industry: print advertising, digital advertising, events and data (including business information products and database services).

The ABM is a division of the Software and Information Industry Association, an association representing the software and digital content industries.

Fallon Honors Woodford Reserve’s Official Bourbon Sponsorship of Kentucky Derby

It’s no secret that bourbon and the Kentucky Derby go hand-in-hand.

During this year’s Derby broadcast on May 2, spirits brand Brown-Forman/Woodford Reserve brought its specially crafted Derby bottles to life at Churchill Downs in an ad from Fallon.

The spot, aptly dubbed “Bottle Run,” features animated Woodford Reserve bottles having their own battle on the racetrack. In turn, the ad honors not only Woodford’s status as the official bourbon of the Kentucky Derby but its longtime affiliation with other racing events like the Preakness and Belmont.

Now all we need is a dapper hat a mint julep and we’re good to go.

This Fake Erotic Video Uploaded to Pornhub Is Actually a PSA (but It's Still NSFW)

DDB has uploaded what it claims is the first fake erotic video on Pornhub. The video starts off porny and then morphs into a (still NSFW) PSA from the Alcázar Gynecology Institute, showing men how to perform a breast exam on their wives or girlfriends.

Traditional ads targeting women simply aren’t working, DDB says. And the agency points out that the potential reach of this approach is impressive—given Pornhub’s sizable audience and the fast that 94.73 percent of men watch porn online, according to research. (What portion of those don’t mind being tricked into watching else is another matter.)

And of course, there’s the further problem that this campaign blatantly sexualizes breast cancer, which is an approach many cancer activists despise.

Norwegian upstart and producer of extremely comfortable underwear Comfyballs, have enjoyed success based on great products. But the US Patent office would not allow for the name because it was obscene containing the word “balls”. So we created the website fightforyourballs.com and asked people whether they agreed or not. And to the point of balls being obscene, we made an ad with dangling balls to find out whether that was true. We think not! They’re rather majestic. YouTube banned the film in 24 hours but only after it had attracted more than 100.000 views! And of course the press around the world picked up on it.
