As The New York Times told us this weekend, Americans are eating more frozen food — and Jimmy Dean wants to move out of the freezer and onto the dinner table by expanding upon its breakfast-sausage-centered lineup.

The company’s creative AOR TBWAChiatDay L.A. will help its longtime client move t0ward that goal with a new campaign. Here’s the first spot, which aims to dispel the crazy idea that frozen dinners lack flavor by pitting them against a fresh batch of iceberg lettuce:

McCann Launches ‘Together, All the Way’ for Cigna

Back in June, Cigna named McCann Erickson as its agency of record, following an extended review which also included finalists Grey and DDB. Now McCann has a new global campaign for Cigna, entitled “Together, All the Way.”

The campaign aims to introduce Cigna as a global health network in over 30 countries, with “one million doctors and health facilities, and 85 million customer relationships around the world.” In the debut spot, appearing in both 60-second and 30-second iterations, McCann presents Cigna as not just health insurance but “a partner who’s with you all the way.” The spot lists all the ways people try to stay well, such as exercising, looking both ways before crossing the street and choosing “the salad, occasionally” before stating that staying well is hard to do alone, and that you need a partner like Cigna, ending with the new tagline “Together, all the way.”

The broadcast spots are supported by digital and print executions. Additionally, ads will launch in China in October and India in November, followed by digital and social components extending the campaign into 2015.

Corona Brings Glorious Sunshine to a Shaded Patio in Clever Outdoor Stunt

The stars really aligned for Corona—well, one did in particular—in this clever outdoor stunt from Toronto agency Zulu Alpha Kilo.

Check out the video below to see how the brand brought some extra hours of sunlight to some drinkers on a patio. It’s a great realization of the brand’s tagline, “Find your beach,” and surely has extra resonance in Canada, where summers are short enough.

Corona, of course, loves any marketing that involves celestial bodies—as seen in New York City last summer, when the brand made the waxing crescent moon look like a slice of lime resting in a Corona bottle on a billboard.



Airbnb Names TBWA New Global Agency


Omnicom’s TBWA has been named the global agency of record for Airbnb, the hospitality startup, after a review.

The agency was selected because of a “rigorous and inventive strategy, provocative creative and understanding of the brand’s purpose and its potential,” Airbnb said in a statement.

“We’re delighted to be working with TBWAChiatDay, one of the truly great global agencies, at one of the most exciting points in our history,” Airbnb CMO Jonathan Mildenhall said in the statement. “The team rose to our challenge to find incredibly creative and authentic ways to connect with our community around the world, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds.”

Publicis Groupe Buys Design Firm Turner Duckworth for Leo Burnett Network


Publicis Group is acquiring Turner Duckworth, a design agency known for its designs for Coca-Cola, and placing it in the Leo Burnett network.

The move comes as as the agency and holding company aim to beef up their design offerings, particularly in relation to packaging and shopper marketing. Turner Duckworth will keep its name and management team and operate as a separate shop underneath the Leo Burnett network. It’s believed that there are no client conflicts, and the two have previously collaborated on Coca-Cola and Samsung. Turner Duckworth has about 70 employees in two offices — San Francisco and London — though the agency does have its sights set on expansion.

The acquisition illustrates the “importance Leo Burnett places on the marriage of design and creative advertising to deliver effective and meaningful communications programs for blue chip clients,” Publicis said in a statement. Turner Duckworth will continue to collaborate with clients’ agencies, it added.
