O aplicativo, The Dalí Museum Staring Contest, é exatamente o que parece ser: uma simples competição de encarar Dalí e ver quem fica mais tempo sem piscar. Para isso, através do app, é preciso olhar fixamente para os olhos do artista, em sua figura que aparece na tela, e tentar não piscar. A pegadinha: Dalí sempre vence!  Outra coisa interessante é que ele continua olhando para o usuário apenas se este manter seu olhar.

Mecânica simples e até mesmo boba, o ar de brincadeira e visual vintage acabam expressando de forma inusitada as personas e obsessões de Dalí e Warhol.

Por trás do app está a obsessão tanto de Dalí quanto de Warhol com o mundo das celebridades. De fato, a interação nos coloca face a face com personalidades e estrelas do mundo da arte, e estas olham diretamente para nós, com ego imenso e olhar fixo sempre vitorioso.

Da mesma forma que não era possível tirar os olhos destas duas maiores figuras artísticas e de ideias disruptivas do século 20, o aplicativo, mesmo que simples, faz um bom trabalho ao gerar conhecimento sobre a exposição atual do museu e também ao levar o tema para o bolso de cada amante da arte: um simples aparelho que conecta olho no olho e prende sua atenção por quanto tempo for possível.
