Depois de patinar – e inclusive tentar fazê-los sumir do mapa – com os comerciais focados no Genius, a Apple volta à televisão com uma campanha para o iPhone 5.

São três comerciais que falam especificamente do smartphone – “Thumbs”, “Cheese” e “Physics” – e outro sobre o novo fone de ouvido – “Ears”.

Todos os filmes carregam algo em comum: O retorno do marketing da Apple com foco exclusivo nos produtos.

As próprias criações da empresa de Cupertino sempre foram as estrelas das campanhas, mas nos últimos tempos vimos concessões que não seriam toleradas antes. Não estou falando apenas da perniciosa abordagem do Genius, mas também dos comerciais da Siri.

Ao optar por celebridades – ainda que em empáticas atuações – a Apple virou lugar comum, assumindo que a assistente virtual, maior característica do iPhone 4S, precisava de ajuda para ser vendida.

O endosso de famosos parecia pedir aos usuários, que tinham conhecimento dos bugs e do caráter beta do produto, um voto de confiança.

Com o iPhone 5, o produto volta a ser o herói, sem diluição de foco. Os filmes utilizam uma ponta de ironia, ao revelar como as novas funções podem facilitar a vida do usuário, e até perguntando como algo maior pode ser menor.

Porém, “Thumbs” é o meu preferido (o primeiro, lá em cima do post). Por dois motivos: 1. Tem também o leve tom irônico, alegando que o tamanho da tela do iPhone não foi definida à toa, mas sim pensando no movimento do polegar humano. 2. Me parece uma sutil alfinetada na concorrência, que celebra smartphones maiores, como se maior fosse sempre melhor.
