É necessário agregar algum tipo de serviço relevante que faça com que determinado investimento não caia tão rapidamente no esquecimento do usuário/consumidor.
Um novo e bom exemplo disso é o iLingual, um aplicativo gratuito de iPhone recém criado pela companhia aérea Emirates.

Como o próprio nome sugere, o aplicativo traduz frases para facilitar a vida dos turistas que viajam pelo mundo.
Basta baixar o aplicativo, tirar uma foto da própria boca e escolher uma voz masculina ou feminina. Em seguida o usuário escolhe uma das mais de 400 frases à disposição e interage colocando o telefone na frente da boca. Tem tradução inglês-francês, inglês-alemão e inglês-árabe.

Embora não seja uma funcionalidade muito nova, ela é pertinente e capaz de beneficiar muita gente por aí. Ponto pra Emirates ;-)
