Cesviamo Stop Aids: The Condom Mob

Cesviamo (www.cesviamo.org) is an italian social network created by Cesvi, a non-profit cooperation and development organization of social utility. The basic idea of the network is very simple: you can make a bet envolving all your friends in order to raise money for social issues. In this case, they had 3 goals: to increase the awareness of the website, to explain how the social network works turning fundraising into “funraising”, and to make people – and above all students – more conscious about AIDS, an actual and vivid issue. So they launched the biggest bet ever: the “Condom Mob” – 100 young person in a condom against AIDS! The word of mouth has grown up trough the main social networks (facebook, twitter, friendfeed) and the event took place inside two italian universities: the first one in Milan, well known for communication studies, and the other one in Genoa, specialized in medical studies. The result was beyond their expectations! In the first case they managed to reach 223 person entering the condom, while in the second case the person involved was 230! The media coverage of the campaign was and still it is beeing impressive (tv, radio, magazines, social networks and hundreds of website and blogs). In the end the bet was won, and Cesvi saved the life of a child in Africa preventing him from AIDS (in detail, Cesvi supplied a complete therapy that reduces nearly 100% the risk of aids transmission from a HIV positive mother to her child).

Publicado no dia 15 de dezembro, esse vídeo do Museu Americano de História Natural nos apresenta, como diz o nome, todo o universo conhecido pelo homem até os dias de hoje. Nos leva desde o Himalaia através de nossa atmosfera até o escuro espaço sideral. O filme faz parte da exposição “Visions of the Cosmos: From the Milky Ocean to an Evolving Universe”, que estará no museu até maio de 2010.

Com um volume imenso de espectadores nos últimos dias, “The Known Universe” garante o primeiro lugar do ranking semanal de virais, totalizando quase 1.4 milhão de views.

2. Jack Bauer interrogates Santa

Esse passou por aqui no último dia 21, com Jack Bauer tentando fazer Papai Nopel abrir a boca em um interrogatório. Bauer usa todas as técnicas de persuasão que funcionaram com terroristas no passado, mas o Noel é duro na queda, e tem um trunfo contra o homem mais poderoso do planeta.

O vídeo é o cartão de Natal da agência The Rebel Viral, que demonstrou na prática seu trabalho alcançando mais de 1 milhão de views, com direito a diversas cópias no YouTube, entre versões dubladas e legendas.

3. I’m Yours (ukulele)

O garotinho que toca (e canta) Jazon Mraz no ukelele caiu duas posições em relação ao ranking da semana passada, mas ainda assim, adicionou quase 2 milhões de plays ao seu placar, totalizando cerca de 9 milhões de views.

4. HP computers are racist

Um computador HP comprado de presente para a esposa, e um problema técnico que acabou gerando uma piada coletiva: O software da webcam é capaz de detectar rostos brancos normalmente, mas com negros, ele não funciona. Desi, que comprou o computador, demonstra o problema com um vídeo publicado no YouTube no dia 10 de dezembro, e que atingiu 1.4 milhão de views nessa semana.

A HP respondeu, dizendo que Desi deveria tentar adicionar mais luz ao seu rosto no momento de utilizar a camera. Isso só serviu para uma nova onda de piadas: a HP está sugerindo que o rapaz deva ficar mais branco?

5. “Young Forever” Jay-Z | Mr. Hudson

Publicado há apenas 3 dias, o clipe da música “Young Forever” de Jay-Z e Mr. Hudson já entrou no ranking. Nesse pouco tempo, já são quase 700 mil views. Isso me faz imaginar em que lugar o vídeo estará na semana que vem. Não será surpresa se atingir posições mais altas, e continuar assim por semanas a fio.

Vale lembrar que, clipes musicais pops foram os vídeos mais assistidos na internet durante todo o ano, não dando vez para nenhum tipo de piadinha ou criação publicitária.

McDonald’s: Piccadilly signs

The McDonald’s giant interactive LED billboard at London’s Piccadilly Circus was created to do more than just sell burgers, It is an interactive poster allows the 34 million people that pass it every year to actually live the brand’s value of Simple Easy Enjoyment. Using a series of 40 second iconic still and moving images, people can take pictures of them with our poster as a backdrop and create a fun photo of them appearing to wear or do something. The digital technology allows us to display a variety of creative executions – London-centric (e.g. bowler hat), seasonal (e.g. umbrella) and tactical (e.g. Mother’s Day, Halloween).
