Banners for Branding: OPA announces new banner formats & metrics

A banner’s only as good as its click through and conversion rate. Right? Wrong… It seems that soon enough a few new banner formats and performance metrics will finally allow marketers to make more of an impression online, and more importantly, provide them with the means to prove it.

CP+B do it again for the first time.

CP+B have thought up another great little idea for Burger King. They tracked down people from the far reaches of the world who are “Whopper Virgins”. The mini documentary is an engaging piece of content. This is not my favourite BK campaign but I give CP+B thumbs up for continuing to challenge what advertising is […]

The Future of Music Videos?

I came across this beautiful piece of digital work recently. Essentially it’s a interactive music video. It got me thinking whether this is what music videos will become. Just from playing with this I felt an affinity with the artist and music which a standard music video could not give me. Here is another […]

How Delta Air Uses Online Video

Emerging from bankruptcy in 2007, Delta launched several initiatives to communicate the message of “change,” including video travel guides that feature flight attendants giving tours of Delta’s destinations. “We wanted to make our employees the centerpiece of the video travel guides because of who they are and what they know. Our flight attendants serve as […]

Aussie youth consume more

Interesting read from yesterday’s Adnews.
Young Aussies are fitting 38 hours of activities into every 24-hour period thanks to multi-tasking, new research from Synovate has found.
The annual Synovate Young Asians study, which covers 11 markets across Asia Pacific and looks into youth media perceptions and consumption, has for the first time published findings on Australian youth.

Safepoke your Facebook Friends & Stop AIDS

The South African Health Department alerted TBWA\Hunt\Lascaris, Johannesbug to the fact that within the country’s HIV pandemic, middle-class white females were getting infected at a faster rate than anyone else. Educational messaging is generally aimed at the nation’s poor majority, but an affluent, media-savvy element in our society simply wasn’t paying enough attention.
The agency asked […]

BRAND BIBLES – WRITING THE NEW TESTAMENT

A while back some clever strategist looking for another way to afford another beach house, conceived the idea of creating a special little book for a brand. The book would treat the brand like a person; give it a personality, a social standing, a few colours that it clothes itself in and a few key […]

Nintendo DS mixed-reality treasure hunt

Nintendo have launched a free mixed-reality game “Treasure Quest: Enoshima – Treasure of the Dragon,” where users travel to an island 50km south of Tokyo to begin their quest. The players use their Nintendo DS to search for clues as they travel around the 4km island. Through the DS’s wireless feature the game will […]

EveryScape

One step better than Google Street View is EveryScape which allows users to actually go inside buildings. It’s a nice fusion of Google Street View and Google Local in a way – which I suppose is really the best way for a company to develop an idea better than a Google idea: put two of […]

Speaking to your target market

Herringbone, purveyors of fine shirts, ties and other Toffee business attire sent out a rather curious and altogether well conceived piece of email communication today. Clearly aimed at the hip pockets and proud minds of their base clientele Sydney Stockbrokers they have created this unique take on the Summer Sale. With the real market in jeopardy, what […]

Meet or Delete

I came across this great motion piece for Meet or Delete a global branded entertainment series from HP & MTV. The idea for the matchmaking series is simple, contestants get access to each others hard drives and from their snooping they decide who they delete and who they meet. So they say that the […]

Topshop Facebook app

This new Facebook App for Topshop at first glance seems pretty good. It pushes out the latest fashions available at Topshop and gives users a chance to rate them. I realise I may not be the target audience but I was hoping for more information and interaction with this app. Still it competently does its […]
