Power Vibe Studio: Before And After

Power Vibe Studio asked TBWA East Africa to create awareness for their new gym, and to convince people that their weight-loss strategies and special equipment could really build a difference in the physique and fitness of their potential clients. But they had to overcome the perception (even in Africa!) that all ads are retouched in Photoshop and therefore those images are no longer believable. The solution that TBWA proposed was a real-life “Before & After” demonstration showing the dramatic difference between a healthy & fit person – and someone not quite so fit! Two girls of quite different physiques were dressed identically and walked side-by-side through local shopping areas. As they passed, their T-shirts read “Before” and “After” on the back, with the “After” shirt carrying the gym logo and the slogan “build a difference”. Surprised onlookers had a bit of a chuckle. And quite a few of them asked for more information, with intentions of joining the programme.

Levi’s: Summer Hotline

Challenge: In a saturated jeans market place, Levi’s needed to reclaim their iconic status by reconnecting with their audience and reigniting excitement for the brand.

Solution: Get ‘talking’ to the audience with the Levi’s Summer Hotline. Our larger than life pop-up interactive phone booth got temperatures rising by forcing our audience out of their comfort zones. Our brave contenders had to tackle tough challenges set by Hong Kong’s hottest radio hosts through real time video interaction. Results: Over 3 days, nearly half a million people interacted with the booths. Thousands of people spread the word online generating hundreds of likes, discussions and positive reactions. Over HK$250,000 worth of earned media was generated with 0 investment in paid media and sales increased by over 30% over a typical week period.

Fiat Ducato: Palette

Objective: For more than 25 years, the Fiat Ducato has been one of the most successful transporters in Germany. One of the biggest reasons for this is its tremendous loading capacity — appreciated by craftsmen throughout Germany. So that‘s the feature we focused on.

Idea: We demonstrated that the Fiat Ducato handles massive tasks without difficulty by wrapping the ground floor of a building in vinyl with an oversized palette printed on it. and paying it off with the line: “BUILT FOR BIGGER TASKS. FIAT DUCATO.”

Results: The installation was placed in a part of Frankfurt that boasts a heavy concentration of construction companies. The result: In the first month it was up, local dealers generated 25 % more traffic to their showrooms. The idea also received coverage in local newspapers, trade magazines. On YouTube and on blogs.
