Chicago Shakespeare Theater Sunday in the Park with George: Live Event

On Sunday, visitors at theArt Institute of Chicago received a slightly different cultural experience than they expected—a new temporary addition to the museum’s French Impressionist collection that had them scratching their heads. At the top of the Grand Staircase leading to the Impressionist Gallery, a full-sized replica of the iconic painting,A Sunday on La Grande Jatte–1884 was devoid of most of the foreground characters, leaving visitors befuddled by the strange new version. Then while they were trying to figure this oddity out, fully costumed characters from the painting emerged and sang a rousing rendition of the song “Sunday” from the musical Sunday in the Park with George, coming to the Chicago Shakespeare Theater at Navy Pier. It was all part of a joint effort by Chicago Shakespeare Theater and The Art Institute of Chicago to create excitement for the theater’s upcoming production of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s musical Sunday in the Park with George. The Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical opens the Theater’s season, September 26 through November 4, 2012. After hearing the actors’ thrilling musical performance, patrons witnessed them cascade down the grand staircase, out the main entrance of the Art Institute between the iconic lions and onto a Chicago Trolley which carried them up Michigan Avenue, along the City’s grand Millennium Park, to Chicago Shakespeare Theater on Navy Pier. Only in Chicago could these two masterpieces have engaged in conversation with one another. Inspired by the Art Institute of Chicago’s famous Georges Seurat masterpiece, Sunday in the Park with George, tells the story of a painter’s struggle between creating art and living life. The Chicago Shakespeare production is staged by Associate Artistic Director Gary Griffin (The Color Purple, Follies) and features Jason Danieley as Georges/George and Carmen Cusackas Dot/Marie.

Heineken opens your world. So we went all out to prove it, sending one man to Inner Mongolia with the challenge of making his way back home to Bangkok with no money, no map, just Heineken. He had to exchange Heineken for a lift, exchange Heineken for directions and even exchange Heineken with a Inner Mongolian wrestler, all in the name of adventure, and beer.

15 Minute Magazine: Ad Quotes Typography

Client: ‘15 Minute’ is a monthly, informative cultural magazine that touches on themes such as Theater, Film, Plastic Arts and… Advertising.

Challenge: Our task was to design a series of illustrations for articles about advertising that were to be published in the magazine.

Idea: We chose three famous quotes from advertising giants Ogilvy, Burnett and Bernbach and illustrated them so as to match the technique with the quote and vice versa.

Building on the popularity of its sizzling-hot scorched video, DDB Canada extended the launch of Subaru’s new purebred sports coupe, the BRZ, this past weekend, August 25/26. DDB PR took to the streets of downtown Toronto to bring the agency’s ‘scorched’ creative to life with a month-long ambient installation guaranteed to turn heads. I wanted to share the attached zip file with you to showcase the photos from the campaign, which will be live until September 16.

Lux: Magic Shower Rooms

In ladies’ shower rooms across spas, clubs and gyms we sampled bottles of Lux Magic Spell. The walls and floors of all these shower rooms were covered with stickers made using special hydrochromic ink. Upon contact with water, the white ink disappeared to magically reveal beautiful trails of orchids.ors get to experience this inspired multi sensorial piece of Lux art.

Ura.ru: Make the politicians work!

Quality of roads is the eternal problem of Yekaterinburg – the fourth largest city of Russia. The local site URA.RU, which writes about life in the city, decided to remind politicians that it is their duty to repair the roads. The problem is – our politicians don’t care about potholes. Their only worry is their own public image. We associated road holes with the images of certain politicians. In the night, on three potholes in city center, we drew faces of the governor, the mayor and the vice-mayor. The news about caricatures became a sensation. With this intense PR the politicians were no longer able to sit idle. The holes were fixed. The news about the action was released in more than 300 media venues, the website traffic on URA.ru doubled. The officials at last started to do their jobs.
