‘House of Surprises’ is the latest iteration of Samsung’s ‘Life Unstoppable’ series, which launched last year using Unreal Engine. This year the mini-movie is themed around ‘connected living’ and draws on techniques from the entertainment industry, including theatre, film and television. It tells the story of a quirky family called ‘The Unstoppables’ and is set in their Bohemian-style, distinctive European home.

Viewers are able to interact with the products and the story on a number of levels. By clicking on ‘open AirDresser’ in the bedroom, one of the cast members walks in and opens the Samsung AirDresser, before exiting, highlighting the product benefits. Viewers can also click other hotspots that enable them to alter their view and request tailored content and additional product information. Smyle additionally created various hotspots through the house to enable consumers, who can view the experience on Samsung.com fromthe 18th October, to click and purchase the specific products from their local Samsung.com store. This combination of experiential marketing, storytelling and e-commerce provides an altogether different approach to online consumer engagement.

Mini: The Roundabout Check

To mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month, MINI Middle East and AGMC teamed up with Serviceplan Middle East to create a campaign featuring an eye-catching pink MINI In a clever visual pun on official advice to check for breast bumps, the car has the words ‘circle around. Look for unusual bumps’ written on the side and is available for test drives in Dubai for a 2 week period. The car is being driven around different roundabouts in Dubai and is creating quite a stir on the roads.

MINI is using the opportunity of women coming for test drives at MINI AGMC showrooms in Dubai, to turn it into an awareness drive and start a conversation about breast cancer and how to check for early signs. The test drives have been documented on film, and through these films, MINI and Serviceplan Middle East want to encourage women to test/ check for any bumps and help spread awareness by test driving the car.

Dubai-based Fashion stylist and breast cancer survivor Dina Aman is the MINI Pink ambassador and female MINI lovers are invited to test drive the car alongside Dina. For two weeks, people who opt for this special test drive also get a chance to interact with Dina during a test drive, when they can learn more about her experience of breast cancer, how she beat cancer and came out stronger. There is also literature about breast cancer available at the MINI showroom, and other surprising communication touchpoints planned for the month.

Lil-Lets – the brand with the widest range of period products in South Africa – has launched the ‘Be You. Period.’ campaign to help bust stereotypes and broaden representations around menstruation.

Be You. Period was penned for Lil-Lets by local poet, Puno Selesho, who is featured in the video along with menstrual health rights activists including Nokuzola Ndwandwe (Team Free Sanitary Pads), Pontsho Pilane (author of Flow, founder of the Free to Bleed campaign), Farah Fortune (founder of The Pad Run), Lucy Khofi (founder of #RealTalkWithLucyKhofi), and Megan Ross (author of Milk Fever and lead responder on Lil-Lets Talk). Gorillas: Spot the Bikers

For the Italian launch of European grocery delivery service Gorillas, independent creative and production network DUDE employed guerilla tactics to raise brand awareness by turning the brands most coveted assets – their own bikers – into a bespoke media channel offering discount codes…if you can catch them first.
The Gorillas mantra is ‘Faster than You’ meaning that they promise to deliver from order confirmation to delivery within 10 fast minutes. So those bikers are fast and the time of delivery is very short.

‘Spot the Biker’ challenged the public to take a picture of the discount code which was attached to the back of each biker, and upload that code on their next order through the app. All 70 bikers carried the code which changed each day. No mean feat.

In just 5 days of activity there were 3000 new downloads of the app and a 20% increase in orders.

Gorillas want to revolutionise the way in which we do our grocery shopping, and to address the environmental, economic and social impact that purchasing choices and consumption styles have on the planet.

Essentially, the aim is to make grocery shopping more often, buying less, buying fresher and reducing food waste.
The activation follows an initiative that featured an impactful reinterpretation of the iconic clock of the Central Station of Milan, to highlight excessive food loss and waste. Every 10 minutes Gorillas bikers delivered food bags with a surprise selection of unsold products that could not be sold the next day, but could be consumed due to being within expiry date.
