With masks becoming mandatory to wear in UK retail spaces, we saw a proactive opportunity for Starbucks UK to position mask-wearing as an altruistic, community-focused act. Starbucks is famous for writing customers’ names on cups. So we played into this with a self-deprecating visual, posted on their Instagram and Facebook channels, that showed the even greater challenge baristas face, thanks to customers wearing their masks.

The spot explores the new ZX range through a mixture of 3D, hand animation, simulations, and CG. Chinese star Jackson Yee, a singer, dancer and actor, is starring in the film alongside the prominent South Korean musicians So!YoON! and DPR Live, who are being shown to test the newest Adidas ZX range and the shoes’ durability.
