Using subway billboards to physically demonstrate social distancing (each enclosure is more than 2 metres from one another) and at the same time driving this message across public transit, currently in use by essential workers daily, we wanted to use existing media assets to deliver a critical message from an unlikely source. What’s interesting is that this is a message from the Geneva Centre for Autism, during April, which is Autism Awareness Month. Autism is a lifelong struggle to overcome social distancing, so the shift today to encourage this practice is an interesting thought exercise when considering what it means for this community.

Many people don’t reply to their chats early, either intentionally or because they simply forget. When they do, they make flimsy excuses for why they didn’t reply earlier (I was busy vacuuming the ceiling etc). And even with the world on lockdown due to the Corona Virus, people still stick to this irregular chat patterns – replying late, fleeing conversations and making excuses even when they’re with their phones. It’s worse for people far away from their loved ones, because they could fear the worst. So we came up with a series of witty and shareable WhatsApp Poster Ads with a single message ‘Don’t Lose Touch’, based on general chatting insights people are familiar with. Every time WhatsApp is launched, you see one of 18 unique posters just before your main chat screen opens. These posters would also be saved and shared directly to your contact the message applies to, on WhatsApp and other Social Media. This campaign is a Spec Work by students, and is thus unaired.

Health & Happiness Agency LRXD is flexing more than its creative muscle with the launch of “Ad Bodz,” a live workout series it will host on Zoom with certified trainer Mike Davidov. The fitness program is composed of strength training and conditioning exercises that are designed to keep clients and fellow agencies active and toned during the COVID-19 crisis. Sample workout titles: SEO: Squat Engine Optimization, This Concept Has Legs, The Booty Brief, New Business Peach, and Rock-hard Ads.

The agency will host the live, daily, 40-minute Ad Bodz workouts each Monday through Friday at 7:30 a.m. MST on Zoom. “Our brains have been working overtime the past few weeks, so we’re ready to give our creative minds a rest and get our muscles moving!” the announcement on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn reads. “Starting tomorrow, LRXD is inviting the advertising community to get up and sweat it out with us. So, we can keep the ad community strong… and our abs stronger.” No equipment is necessary to participate.

“In these mighty unmotivating times, pre-recorded workout vids weren’t exactly getting us out of bed,” said creative director Jamie Reedy. “So, we came up with this idea to do live weekday workouts to give ourselves and everyone else who wants to tune in an a.m. kick-in-the-pants. It’s a way for the Health & Happiness Agency (i.e., us) to give back to the greater ad community by keeping people’s bodies strong during conditions that are making that more and more difficult.”
