Sea Shepherd: Seal, Turtle

Print
Sea Shepherd

A simple plastic bag seems harmless, but it can represent extreme suffering – and even death – for thousands of animals in the oceans. Depicting this unfortunate truth through strong images, Sea Shepherd, an NGO focused on the conservation of marine wildlife, is launching a plastic awareness campaign.

3D ads have been created in partnership between Tribal Worldwide São Paulo and DDB Guatemala, that bear the caption, “The plastic you use once tortures the oceans forever.”

The ads show different marine animals such as seals and turtles in extreme agony after coming in contact with plastics from items used in our daily lives and generally discarded without any special care. The 3D production was developed by Notan Studio.

Unicef: Talk Against Violence

People are generally unaware about psychological abuse: 1 of 2 Ukrainians unable to recognize manifestations of psychological violence according to InMind research for UNICEF Ukraine. However, 75% of children in Ukraine are regularly subjected to violent discipline, as well as 1 100 000
Ukrainian women are facing domestic violence every year.

Anti-violence campaigns in Ukraine have usually targeted victims of physical abuse, rarely – the abusers themselves. Thought, the domestic violence situation hasn’t got any better.

Striving to make a positive impact we went to the problem’s roots: psychological abuse.

We aimed at engaging with everyone, since anyone can be a victim, an abuser or a witness of psychological violence during their lifetime.
Violence triggers people, and while trying to stop psychological violence having no idea of how to do it properly, many people start fighting it, practicing and provoking even more violence.

We decided not to fight, but to talk against violence.

In order to motivate people to have a talk with their families, and thus not to let violence in their relations in future we did a real neuroscience experiment
to show people what psychological violence is and why it is so destructive for people.

Target, d-to-c upstarts spark underwear overhaul

The women’s lingerie market is in a state of redesign.

A host of direct-to-consumer e-commerce brands, including Lively, ThirdLove and True&Co., have entered the $12.4 billion space in recent years while existing players expand to reach new customers: Late last month Target debuted a trio of inclusion-minded in-house lingerie labels. The rush of newcomers is also affecting Victoria’s Secret, the L Brands-owned company that controls a hefty 28 percent of the industry, according to Ibis World, which is struggling with sales declines, marketing criticism and store closures.

“It’s long overduesuch a vast category, but only a few players have been dominating it,” says Michelle Cordeiro Grant, who founded New York-based Lively three years ago. She notes that historically, women have considered bra shopping a chore, but that there is opportunity to challenge the perception of “need” to “want” and grow the category. “It’s not just taking market share, it’s creating market share,” she says.

MillerCoors chases European import growth with Peroni's first national campaign

MillerCoors is making a major marketing investment in Italian beer Peroni as it attempts to seize on recent sales weakness of competing European imports, Stella Artois and Heineken.

The brewer, which has controlled Peroni’s U.S. marketing and distribution since 2005, will launch Peroni’s first U.S. national campaign, including TV ads, later this month. The campaign is by MDC Partners-owned Mono of Minneapolis, which won the account last year.

Ads evoke a quirky sense of Italian style, using the tagline “Birra Beautifully.” (Birra is Italian for beer.) One spot shows a couple converting blue-and-white striped beach umbrellas into a blazer and dress before heading to a beach bar. In another ad, a woman dives to the bottom of a pool in her dress to retrieve a bottle opener.
