Contours Baby "Stroller Test-Ride" (2016) 1:47 (USA)

Since your baby can’t talk, it can’t tell you if it enjoys the stroller ride. To remedy this, Contours Baby created a life-sized replica of its storller and took adults for a ride to see what they thought of it. Cute idea.

Cinnamon Toast Crunch "Breakfast in the fast lane" (2016) :36 (USA)

They brought us, among other things, Squad Bowls. Now Cinnamon Toast Crunch is back with a new product: The Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cruiser. So you can eat on the go. In the press release we were told we could take it for a test drive. Sounded tempting until the bit about signing a waiver and wearing protective gear. That’s a long way to go for a bowl of cereal, even if it’s on the go. Still, it’s fun to see Cinnamon Toast Crunch keep trying to capitalize on millennial trends.

Sprout "Say goodbye to mom guilt" (2016) :30 (USA)

Sprout, for those who don’t know, is a 24-hour preschool TV network. So this “let’s all say goodbye to mom guilt,” message is brought to us by Sprout. There is such a disconnect between what we are seeing and that end message that it comes across as being confusing. There’s no guilt in playing video games with your son, or napping. Also the mom looks happy throughout the spot. I know for a fact there’s mom guilt but it doesn’t come from any of these scenarios. Love the message, but the spot itself feels like it’s for a completely different message.

Audi "the 3D audio song" (2016) 1:29 (Sweden()

The new Audi A4 comes with a 3D sound system from Bang & Olufsen. To get the word out, Audi partnered with Swedish electronic duo Cazette and singer Laleh to create a song meant for 3D speakers and then release it exclusively through Audi A4. That’s right, their track “Blue Sky,” was mixed to perfection to the 19 speakers in the new A4. The song drops officially tomorrow, Monday the 23rd. And you can hear it in the A4 in Audi dealers across Sweden. If you don’t feel like schlepping down to a dealer, the song will stream on Spotify starting June 3.

HP "Magic words" (2016) 2:32 (Brazil)

This documentary from AlmapBBDO is for HP. With more than 13 million illiterate people in Brazil, there are a lot of stories that won’t get passed down from generation to generation. Until now. HP has developed technology that records words as text-to-speech and then prints them in real time. So stories like the ones you see in this documentary will live on as will the lives of the people who told them, even if they don’t know how to write it down themselves. Fascinating.

Salvation Army "Open House." (2016) 1:36 (Canada)

When he’s not busy punching boobs Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau likes to appear on 60 Minutes to lecture Americans about how they should pay more attention to the world. He might stop throwing rocks at glass houses (and punching boobs for that matter) and tend to his own garden. Because if this PSA for the Salvation Army Canada is correct, 1 in 10 Canadians live in poverty and the majority of Canadians have no idea.
To get the word out, the Salvation Army held a very different kind of open house. One that was plastered with facts and figures in each room to show just how dire the situation is for nearly 3.2 million Canadians. In every room there was a stat that drove home the situation in what may be the best contextual advertising I’ve seen in a while.
I like how it stops people in their tracks in such a big way. Here they are, looking for a new house, because presumably they have enough discretionary income to buy one, and they are literally spending a few minutes living in the shoes of someone who skips meals, is late on payments, has to go to the food bank and can’t afford basic necessities.
The Salvation Army also created a virtual tour so anyone can see the staggering statistics.
This activation is incredibly smart work from Grey Canada. Really great work.

Pro Infirmis "fear paralyzes" (2016) 2:10 (Switzerland)

Some 800,000 people in Switzerland are being treated for a social anxiety disorder. So much so that panic attacks, agoraphobia and the like leave them paralyzed as much as a physical paralysis. That’s nearly ten percent of Switzerland’s population, by the way. So let’s talk about it. Very arresting spot from Jung Von Matt.

Maltesers "Leaving" (2016) :20 (UK)

All I’m going to say about this ad is, oh this ad is so fun. So very fun. “Off you go.”

Maltersers "Gran" (2016) :20 (UK)

Poor Gran……lost her hat! BWAHAHAHAHAHA. Maltesers, y’all are some sick people.

Maltesers "Necklace" (2016) :20 (UK)

You know that necklace you left at mine, that was your grans, well I may have accidentally worn it and then Jamie, you know the really fit guy, spun me around on the dancefloor and…. *scatters Maltezers everywhere*.

“Snogged him though.”

“Just a snog?”

“I dunno I can’t remember”

“Oh go on, you gotta tell me!”

— I will admit, I LOLed. The shattered necklace is not as interesting as what happened after the snog.

Southwest "All I do is win" (2016) :30 (USA)

Southwest beats its chest really hard in this spot touting how many billions of dollars they’ve saved you by not charging you for checked luggage n’ stuff. Set to All I Do Is Win” by DJ Khaled (featuring T-Pain) which is where I bet the idea for this spot came from.

89FM "Truth detector radio" (2016) 1:54 (Brazil)

If you haven’t been keeping up with Brazilian politics, you should know that they have a big credibility gap at the moment. To capitalize on this mistrust, 89FM created Truth Detector radio, in which they invited figures from Brazilian society strap into a lie detector and get interviewed to see whether or not they are telling the truth. These interviewees include Oscar Maroni, who sounds like the Larry Flynt of Brazil, and supermodel Renata Kuerten. They even took on Zika with Leonard Weissmann, a government infectologist as well as Inri Cristo who claims to be Jesus.
The results of the lie detector are sent to RDF’s in cars and smart phones.
Neat idea. I was wondering if they’d get any actual politicians on the show. After the success of the first season, for the second season, they decided to invite a bunch of politicians, sending out invitations to 94 of them. None of the politicians accepted. Considering Brazil’s human rights record under its dictatorship, they should consider that a blessing. Esto dizendo, caras.

Tesa, "Save a wall" (2016) 1:02 (Italy)

Tesa is an adhesive tape that allows people to avoid damage to their walls by using hammers, nails and drills. Despite this a lot of people are unfamiliar with Tesa’s benefits. So FCB Milan created Save a wall. In which they had outdoor walls “run away,” because they can’t take the abuse any more. Lines like “Help I’ve run away from home after years of being tortured by an amateur interior decorator,” were hung around town where the walls used to be. The take away being a wall has no choice, but you do.
I am hoping something here is lost in translation because in English the lines sound like they were actually written by an victims of domestic abuse. Maybe in the native tongue it’s a lot more tongue-in-cheek. Right?
