Does the Watch on Tim Cook's Watch Measure up to Steve Jobs' Standards?

What reason does Apple have for not disclosing watch sales on its latest financial returns?

I can think of one reason. They’re not good.

Tim Cook says otherwise. “We made the decision back in September not to disclose the shipments on the watch, and that was not a matter of not being transparent, it was a matter of not giving our competition insight on a product that we worked hard on.”

Diet Pepsi's Playbook for Aspartame-Free Launch Includes NFL

Are you ready for some football? And aspartame-free Diet Pepsi?

PepsiCo hopes that consumers answer yes to both of those questions, as it uses its National Football League sponsorship to help launch the reformulated soda.

The brand announced plans to remove the much-maligned aspartame sweetener in April and replace it with sucralose combined with acesulfame potassium, known as Ace-K. But cans and bottles won’t start hitting stores until Monday. With football season around the corner, much of the marketing plugging the new version will take advantage of the marketer’s pricey NFL sponsorship.

Adidas "Ceate your own" (2015) 1:22 (USA)

In which a cocky little bastard lets everyone know he no longer has football stars to look up to but football stars who he plans to compete against. Kind of like the anti “be like Mike.” This is 72andsunny’s first effort for the brand and it stars the usual bevy of famous athletes on the adidas roster including Leo Messi, Gareth Bale, James Rodríguez, Thomas Müller, Mesut Özil, etc. adidas, 2015: knocking athletes and superstars off their high horses.

If adidas is now saying celebrity and hugely well-known athletes don’t matter because anyone can create their own, why are they still showcasing them so bloody much?

MDC Assures Investors It Hasn't Lost Business In Wake of SEC Investigation

MDC during its second-quarter earnings call Thursday took the opportunity to tell investors that it hasn’t lost any business from the SEC investigation.

The company’s new chief, Scott Kauffman, who previously served as presiding director on the company’s board of directors but took the helm last month, said, “I can say that we have not lost any business and our pipeline is as robust as I have ever seen it.”

The second-quarter results come less than three weeks after the company announced its CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors Miles Nadal was stepping down, a change that came amid the SEC investigation that began in October 2014 and looked into MDC’s accounting practices, trading information and Mr. Nadal’s expenses. This spring, the company said Mr. Nadal would pay back his employer $8.6 million, and that the investigation would be ongoing.

Time Turned the Year's Hottest Tech Into the Year's Dumbest Cover, and Parody is Rampant

OculusVR founder Palmer Luckey is one of the tech industry’s brightest rising stars—a fact Time tried but ridiculously failed to capture on its newest cover.

As you can see above, Luckey is shown in mid … uh, jump? Stumble? Rapturous epiphany? The only things viewers can tell for sure is that he’s been Photoshopped in front of a beach and that he looks ridiculous.

And it’s not just the image drawing heckles from tech enthusiasts. The story’s intro is cringe-inducingly awful at a time when most people have stopped seeing nerds as socially worthless outcasts:

“Palmer Luckey isn’t like other Silicon Valley nerds,” the article begins. “He’s a nerd all right, but not the kind who went to a top-ranked university, wrote brilliant code or studied business plans. He’s cheery and talks in normal sentences that are easy to understand.”

It’s doubtful that all this is just artful baiting of the Reddit crowd, but had it been, the results would likely have been the same. Photoshop has been working overtime today as many took up the challenge to make Luckey (and Time) look even more silly:

But perhaps this un-Photoshopped take was the cruelest cut of all:
