Posted in: UncategorizedDomino’s customers can already track the progress of their pizza orders with Domino’s Tracker, but now some can watch them being made live via a webcam, too.
In a pilot program being launched today, Domino’s has added a live video feed to Tracker, so that customers at a store in Salt Lake City, Utah, can watch pizzas being made from scratch. Five webcams have been placed in the store’s kitchen for the entire month of May, and when its customers order online, they will be prompted to go to www.DominosLive.com to watch. The activity is all part of the brand’s efforts to be more transparent about its quality, via its campaign through Crispin Porter & Bogusky.

Infographic: Is a Barbie Body Possible?
Posted in: Uncategorized
Four out of five 10-year-olds say that they're afraid of being fat; 42 percent of girls in first through third grade wish they were thinner; half of girls aged 9 or 10 claim that they feel better about themselves when they're dieting. Rehabs.com has some real-beauty sketches of its own—and they're pretty depressing. Now, the site is putting weight obsession in context by looking at how real women stack up against the world's most notable doll—Barbie. Check out the infographic below to see just how removed from reality the Mattel doll is. As Rehabs.com notes, according to data from the Yale Center for Eating and Weight Disorders, the average woman would have to grow 2 feet taller, extend her neck length by 3.2 inches, gain 5 inches in chest size, and lose 6 inches in waist circumference to look like Barbie. That's going to hurt a bit. Another shocking, historical tidbit from the site: Mattel's Slumber Party Barbie, released in the 1960s, came with a scale permanently stuck at 110 pounds, and a small book titled "How to Lose Weight," whose only advice inside was "Don't eat!"

Posted in: UncategorizedYou probably saw this coming: New York Magazine’s Hurricane Sandy cover, dated Nov. 12, 2012, has just been named the Cover of the Year by the American Society of Magazine Editors. ASME’s citation reads:
Shot on the Wednesday evening after Hurricane Sandy hit, Iwan Baan’s photograph of Manhattan, half aglow and half dark, captured the larger story of a powerful city rendered powerless. A true viral phenomenon, the image became an instant icon of the event — [and a] magazine cover that many New Yorkers have saved for posterity. In fact, a poster version was offered for sale by the Museum of Modern Art.
How did Baan capture the image? At the time of publication, New York magazine’s The Cut blog offered the back story. During half an hour spent circling over the city in a hastily rented helicopter, Baan took “between 2,000 and 2,500 shots — 80 percent of the shots are a blur, 10 percent are maybe useable, and 1 percent were really sharp.”

How Cory Booker Saved Newark From Conan O’Brien Using Social Media
Posted in: UncategorizedWhen Conan O’Brien became the latest comedian to take a shot at Newark a few years back, Mayor Cory Booker had more options to respond than his predecessors would have.
He looked up how many people watch “The Tonight Show,” where Mr. O’Brien was then the host, Mr. Booker said at the recent Ad Age Digital Conference. “My social media analytics are multiples of that in one week,” he said. “And so I said, ‘Wait a minute. I’m going to change the paradigm once and for all.'”
Hear Mr. Booker tell the story.

‘Domino’s Live’ Lets You Watch Pizzas Being Made
Posted in: UncategorizedJust a step above watching water boil, Domino’s has gone live with, well, Domino’s Live. The brand has outfitted a Salt Lake City Comino’s location with five webcams that allows people to view the pizza making process. Visitors to the site can also Like the brand’s Facebook page and have their name appear live on a screen in the store…which also has a webcam on it so the entire world can see as well.
Of the work, Domino’s CMO Russel Weiner said, “We at Domino’s have made continued efforts to open our doors and be as welcoming as possible. This is simply the next step, and we are very excited to merge the visual tradition and spirit of the pizzeria with today’s digital capabilities.”
Following this pilot program, the brand may roll out the program to other stores across the nation.
