O bom e velho Francisco

Dá gosto de ver o atual show do Chico Buarque. Com mais de 45 anos de carreira e ainda exibindo um incomparável vigor criativo, ele faz um espetáculo que soa libertário numa época em que, salvo raras exceções, a Música Popular Brasileira sofre com um assustador ostracismo.

A turnê é baseada em seu mais recente álbum, Chico, lançado em dezembro do ano passado, mas vai muito além do repertório do – belíssimo – CD. Entre uma música nova e outra, Chico presenteia os fãs de longa data com clássicos de sua carreira, pinçados de todas as épocas. O Velho Francisco abre o espetáculo. Da longínqua Desalento, passando por Geni e o Zepelim, Cálice (numa nova e moderna versão, curta demais pro meu gosto), Sob Medida, O Meu Amor, Todo o Sentimento e até Anos Dourados (numa emocionante homenagem ao maestro Tom Jobim), Chico revisita grandes momentos de sua obra, e nos relembra como ela tem força e sobrevive ao tempo.

As músicas novas já soam como clássicos, com todo mundo cantando junto como se elas já estivessem aí há anos. Já são tão familiares quanto qualquer outra do seu repertório, e mostra que o disco novo não só foi extremamente bem aceito, mas absorvido com furor pelos fãs que, havia 5 anos, não ouviam uma música nova de Chico Buarque.

Um dos momentos mais bonitos do show é durante a música Sou Eu, em que Chico chama o lendário baterista Wilson das Neves para dividir o palco e os vocais com ele.

De repente, aquele pedaço de chão fica pequeno para abrigar tanta história.

Essas duas figuras representam tantas conquistas, tantas músicas, tantas barreiras derrubadas, tantas influências a tantos outros artistas que fica impossível não se emocionar com eles dois ali, a poucos metros de distância. Wilson das Neves toca bateria na banda do Chico Buarque há pelo menos 35 anos, e já tocou com centenas de outros artistas da MPB. É uma lenda viva, um patrimônio da nossa cultura. Merecidamente, foi ovacionado quando a música chegou ao fim.

E o resto do show prossegue e Chico Buarque vai desfilando cada pérola do setlist com o gosto e a empolgação de quem está tocando pela primeira vez, mas com a certeza de ser o dono de uma obra que empolga e orgulha brasileiros há mais de 40 anos, certo de si e da força que sua produção tem. Soberba, atual, desafiadora e excitante, mesmo depois de tanto tempo nas nossas mentes e corações.

Que bom que ele ainda faz shows. É uma chance que a gente tem de agradecer pessoalmente por todas as contribuições que suas músicas já fizeram pela nossa inteligência, senso de humor e caráter.
