Space Shower tV "The Making of Rock n Roll Panty" (2015) 3:00 (Japan)

So I know you’re saying to yourself: I just watched the Space Shower TV’s Rock n’ Roll Panty. But did they really do it? Was it real?
Well my friends, wonder no longer. Here is the making of. Science was involved. Rock and Roll! Also, huge shout out to the voice over guy. Man, I wish all case studies were this awesome.

Angry Birds 2 – Bigger Badder Birdier – (2015) :60 (UK)

Angry Birds 2 - Bigger Badder Birdier - (2015) :60 (UK)
W+K helps Angry Birds 2 with their official launch trailer, and it just got real y’all. (Pun intended). While King Pig snoozes among his boxes of gold on a shaded area of the island, and other piggies are enjoy the beach and water, the birds are plotting in the distance. Storm the beach! Suddenly blue smokey streaks in the sky disrupt the tranquility of the pigs tropical island, and things around them start to explode.

W+K are keen on letting you know that “No pigs were harmed in the making of this film. Oink!”, it’s all been skillfully crafted in cgi after live-motion filming in studio. It looks both real and a lot of fun, so well done on that!

DIRECTV "Bad Comedian" (2015) :30 (USA)

Eli Manning stars as himself, and his alter-ego, a non-football watching bad comedian.

DIRECTV "Arts and Craftsy" (2015) :30 (USA)

Continuing in the vein of scrawny arms Rob Lowe, DIRECTV brings us some NFL themed spots. This one features Tony Romo and Arts and Craftsy Tony Romo, the sad sack who doesn’t have DIRECTV and doesn’t watch football.

Straight Magazine "Angela Merkel" (2015) :23 (Germany)

Here’s a cheeky ad for German lesbian magazine Straight, starring an Angela Merkel lookalike who, surprise, is actually a lesbian. As the TV discusses a news report that 62% of Germans are okay with same-sex marriage, she shakes her head as a misdirect. Then her lady comes up form behind for a tender embrace.

According to The Local the idea is supposed to be that equality laws for homosexuals are outdated. Even Angela Merkel knows that.

According to watching it blindly, it just seems like a magazine thumbing its nose for publicity.

Saatchi's New Director Showcase – "Night Shift" – (2015) 1:20 (Cannes Lions)

Noam Murro’s short film for the 25th anniversary of Saatchi’s New Director Showcase at this year’s Cannes Lions.

Dating Naked – Love is in the air – (2015)

Dating Naked - Love is in the air - (2015)
From the first shot I thought this was perfect, with the multi-coloured lighting, the playful butt-slapping, the slow motion jumping, the slight pink & purple hue to it all. Together with the music and the couples, it’s all fun, but then they made it even better when they brought out the champagne and silly string. Yes! Silly string! Whomever came up with that is a genius. This is fun, and funny without getting tacky.

“To celebrate Dating Naked: Playing for Keeps, the second season of VH1’s wildly popular Dating Naked series, VH1 has collaborated with the L.A. creative agency Mistress on this video production, featuring airborne naked couples, defying gravity, floating in epic slow motion, demonstrating that love comes in many different forms. The clip “Love Is In The Air” also celebrates National Nude Day (July 14) and showcases couples from a variety of backgrounds, straight and gay, young and old, svelte and full-figured. They represent the melting pot of America. The video is a graphic visualization of the insight that it is all about our true selves, finding true love – without all the bullshit.”

Mistress and VH1 previously collaborated on the viral sensation Dancing Naked, which celebrated the inaugural season of Dating Naked and National Nude Day 2014.

The second season of Dating Naked: Playing for Keeps premieres July 22 at 9pm ET/6pm PT. Dating Naked: Playing for Keeps explores the question: would finding love be easier if you truly had nothing to hide? To answer this question, 60 participants will search for romance free of pre-conceived notions, stereotypes — and clothes. The results are surprising.

Ubisoft "Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Wildlands" (2015) 5:15 (France)

Here’s a very exciting reveal trailer for Tom Clancy’s “Ghost Recon: Wildlands,” Looks like a pretty open world with story and game play that looks like all the other open world stories with game play. In other words it’ll be awesome. I now it was made for E3 but at 5 plus minutes it gets a bit draggy. And before you ask, the song is “Friction,” by Imagine Dragons.

Alagoas "Ghosts" (2015) 5:15 (USA)

Trippy video for Alagoas’ new track “Ghosts,” featuring an ancient civilization and an unexpected visitor. It’s kind of like National Geographic meets H. R. Pufnstuf.

NatGEO Wild – Shark Fest / The Rant – (2015) :30 (USA)

NatGEO Wild - Shark Fest / The Rant - (2015) :30 (USA)
Oh look! It’s “The Rant” But with sharks & about Sharkfest, which is not Shark week, because weeks are lame and festivals are great. Like the Canadian Rant and the Australian Rant, this is all about getting psyched up and ramble on in front of a huge screen. It may not be the Shatner version of the Rant funny, but it’s trying. Either way, SHARKS, amirite? Only ad-damaged people like myself would confused this with the Shark award. I need help.

Bioware – Mass Effect Andromeda E3 trailer – (2015) 2:00 (USA)

This was created as an opener for EA’s presentation at E3 – which is a bit like Cannes but for games a.k.a Really Big Deal™. It’s both a teaser and a hype-starter, giving small glimpse of what is to come in the new Mass Effect Andromeda but without revealing too much just yet. Juxtaposing good ol’ Johnny Cash “Ghost Riders in the Sky” with images of different landscapes – one being your stereotypical Arizona style desert complete with tall desert rocks – it can for the briefest of moments lull you into thinking this is about some western game. But then another landscape shows flying amoebas, and yet another looks like a volcano with lava pimples, so our hero Commander Shepard loads their gun and struts off into the desert like a lonesome cowboy. So far, the jarring mismatch between music and visuals has been a treat, intended to sucker people at E3 in and wonder what this is all about – but now we switch over to the usual game shows off its stuff, its enemies, its new moves and weapons in a crescendo edit set to game sounds and extra loud explosions. Both creatively familiar and badass at the same time. Pleasing the core, and piquing the interest of scrubs.

Rolling Stones – The Steves – (2015) :60 (Argentina)

Rolling Stones - The Steves - (2015) :60 (Argentina)
….”Why do I have to feel so bad, in order to look good?” “How come we’ve landed on the moon, yet we still can’t make a toupé that doesn’t look like a toupé?” these questions and many more are asked by an army of Steve Jobs clones, all wearing the poorly fitting black turtleneck, jeans and white sneakers. The ad targets young adults in Argentina, encouraging them to “Question Everything” and the ad closes with showing the 2011 Rolling Stone cover: “The Steve Jobs Nobody Knew.”

Not sure how this relates to the magazine, but as a skit it’s pretty funny.

Harlequin "Escape with a military hero" (2015) :30 (Canada)

Interesting fact: Harlequin publishes 110 titles a month in 34 different languages. But most women haven’t read more than one title in the past five years. What a head scratcher. Could it be because the books are usually poorly written and the most thought given to them is what the front page cover looks like?
I digress.
This campaign sets out to solve that problem for Harlequin by showing the uh, benefit of the book for middle aged suburban moms: sexy fantasy time. Great casting all around, too.

Harlequin "Escape with a cowboy" (2015) :30 (Canada)

Harlequin romance novels. No one’s readin’ ’em any more. So BBDO Toronto set out to change that by positioning them (geddit?) as the ultimate sexy fantasy read for middle aged mums. Great casting, very funny.

Josephine Hart Poetry Foundation "High Windows" (2015) 1:15 (France)

Directed by Onur Senturk, this film explores Philip Larkin’s poem “High Windows,” as part of the Josephine Hart Poetry Foundation’s “poetry movement,” campaign. This poem, by the way, was written at the height of the Swinging 60’s in London, and comes from the voice of an older bloke who is simultaneously jealous of the younger generations’ lax attitude towards sex, drugs and religion, while also gleeful that he can partake in that feeling, too.

Activision "Skylanders Superchargers" (2015) 1:30 (USA)

For those without parents, Skylanders is the game all the little kids love (and beg their parents to spend endless amounts of money on.) The new edition, features cool vehicles. The spot features Travis Pastrana, the amazing stunt wunderkind who admits everything he does pales in comparison to the Skylanders crew. Although how true could that be really when every freaking frame has a legal line reminding us it isn’t real game play. Don’t legal lines suck? Yes they do. They’re like your mom and dad coming in the room to tell you to turn that Skylanders crap off and go to bed because it’s past your bed time.

Fallout 4 "Official trailer" (2015) 3:04 (USA)

Official Fallout 4 trailer right here, folks. The game a lot of people have been waiting for is finally back. It starts off great with a flickering back-and-forth between pre and post-apocalyptic life, set to an old song by The Ink Spots. Halfway through the nuclear war and its aftermath takes over and a hero returns. It’s set in Boston, by the way. Oh and there’s also the dog which is part of the entire narrative thread. This spot is a nice stoke piece for everyone just in time for E3. I can’t wait to play it. As a trailer though, it lost me after The Ink Spots stopped and the Serious Scored Music began, but hey, what’d you expect from a trailer this long? I’m sure the core gaming crowd will eat it up, though.

Taylor Swift – Bad Blood ft. Kendrick Lamar & celebrity cameos music video (2015)

Taylor Swift - Bad Blood ft. Kendrick Lamar & celebrity cameos music video (2015)
Taylor Swift decks her best sci-fi cyberpunk badassery outfits, complete with stiletto heels of course, and sets out to blast, beat up and bomb whatever gets in her way in “Bad Blood” music video.

With her is practically everyone who is anyone (and female) in entertainment today. Taylor’s mission of revenge starts after she’s double-crossed by a former pal named “Arsyn”, played by Selena Gomez.
Swift’s ass-kicking squad includes Hayley Williams, Hailee Steinfeld, Cara Delevingne, Jessica Alba, Karlie Kloss, Ellen Pompeo and Mariska Hargitay and Cindy Crawford as “the headmistress”. With names like “Homeslice” for Martha Hunt, a cigar-smoking Lena Dunham (ew), and visual nods to Tron, the movie is somewhat retro in it’s futuristic depiction of the cyberpunk world where Ellie Goulding shoots bazookas and Hayley Williams channels The Fifth Element’s Leelo. Also there’s a lot of stilettos, red lipstick and explosions. Did I mention stilettos?

FIFA 15 on EA Access / The Bitter Sweet – (2015) :90 (The Netherlands)

FIFA 15 on EA Access / The Bitter Sweet - (2015) :90 (The Netherlands)
Football is all about emotions, and so Wieden+Kennedy Amsterdam have made a white and dark chocolate bar from Lionel Messi’s tears of joy and tears of despair. It is the bitter-sweet taste of football.

Wieden+Kennedy Amsterdam Creative Director, David Smith, says: “Football is bitter-sweet. One moment you are crying the sweet tears of victory, and the next, you are crying the bitter tears of defeat. So what better way to show the emotion of football than to make a chocolate bar from the tears of Lionel Messi? A man who feels football more than any other man in the world.”

California Lottery "The announcement" (2015) :47 (USA)

This is such a great send up of those overly pompous and arrogant Apple keynote speeches, straight down tot he reactions. The only thing they should have done was dress the speaker in a black turtleneck.
