Can you tell us the process of building a design language for a brand?
From starting with the naming of the brand, reseraching about the demographics and the nature of the brand the brand story starts to form a shape.
Designing a moodboard and perceiving the first thought of the consumer about that brand forms the basis of the design and execution.

Good design along with a good understanding of the brand is what ARTBOAT aims for. The consumer should be able to relate with the brand and the design should help him do that.

This Woman Memorized Every Obscure Detail of Ikea's 328-Page Catalog
Posted in: UncategorizedYanjaa Wintersoul, a 23-year-old with cheerful purple hair, is a memory champion. That’s an actual thing, with contests where people have to memorize as many digits, decks of cards, historic dates and random lists of words as they can in a short period of time. Ikea, the Swedish home furnishings retailer, gave Wintersoul a quirky challenge to help unveil its 2018 catalog: memorizing all the obscure details in the book’s 328 pages.
How good is Wintersoul? Watch her above. Ask her what’s stuck to the fridge in the background of the homey scene on page 21, and she remembers the details Ikea put there to lend authenticity to its furniture stagings (a baby sonogram, a child’s drawing of an animal). Or ask her something even weirder, like whether anybody in the catalog needs to visit the eye doctor, and she remembers two scenes: a woman with her eyeglasses tucked into the pocket of a recliner (page 176) and a wall where a small doctor’s eye chart is displayed along with other art (page 33).
CBS to Buy Australian Network as Test Ground for Streaming
Posted in: UncategorizedCBS Corp. has snapped up ailing Australian TV broadcaster Ten Network Holdings, securing an offshore testing ground for its on-demand streaming service.
The most-watched U.S. network agreed to buy Sydney-based Ten, which has lost money for five straight years, and provide immediate funds to save it from collapse, the Australian company’s receivers and administrators said Monday in a statement. The planned transaction also sidelines a potential bid from News Corp. Co-Chairman Lachlan Murdoch. Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.
The New York-based media giant, which airs “The Big Bang Theory” and “NCIS,” plans to introduce CBS All Access in Australia, more than two years after Netflix started streaming Down Under. Competition from upstarts including Netflix, available in almost 200 countries, is compelling legacy TV companies like CBS to offer their own programming to subscribers on-demand via the internet.
Yelp Tries Custom Audiences Push in Bid For Facebook, Google Ad Dollars
Posted in: UncategorizedMarketers can now reach Yelp users on apps and websites that aren’t operated by Yelp.
The business-review site partnered with data management platform LiveRamp to make the location and search activity for its 100 million users available to advertisers. The move allows marketers to create custom audience segments in similar fashion to Facebook and its Audience Network.
With Yelp Local Audiences, advertisers will now be able to isolate data segments based on categories like brand interest or attributes as well as geographical data, said Drew Canniff, regional VP of agency sales at Yelp. People who search for car dealerships, or restaurants based on price, for example, can be carved out into segments.
Michael Jordan Invests in Silicon Valley Startup
Posted in: UncategorizedMichael Jordan is trying his hand as a venture capitalist.
San Francisco-based startup Gigster announced today that it has raised $20 million from a group of investors that includes the six-time NBA champion and Charlotte Hornets majority owner. The three-year-old Gigster, which connects freelance web engineers and developers with companies looking for help, has raised $32.5 million. The most recent fundraising round was led by Redpoint Ventures, along with Andreessen Horowitz, Y Combinator, Ashton Kutcher’s Sound Ventures, and Marc Benioff. (Bloomberg LP’s venture capital fund Bloomberg Beta is also an investor.)
Jordan is part of a wave of current and former athletes, especially from the NBA, who are taking stakes in Silicon Valley startups. He invested previously in the Switzerland-based sports data company Sportradar. A representative for Jordan declined to comment.
Fire Writers, Make Videos Is Latest Web Recipe for Publishers
Posted in: UncategorizedMic, a website aimed at millennials, used to employ 40 writers and editors producing articles on topics like “celebrating beauty” and “strong women.” Ten were let go this month, with most in the revamped newsroom of 63 now focused on making videos for places like Facebook.
Critics have called such moves “100 percent cynical” and out of sync with audience demand. Yet Americans are watching more video snippets online, either because they secretly like them or because they’re getting harder to avoid. The growing audience for video, more valuable to advertisers than the space next to words, is causing websites to shift resources in what’s become known across the industry as the pivot to video.
“When you think about how many hours people spend watching video versus reading, the audience has already spoken,” said Chris Altchek, chief executive officer of Mic. The outlet’s viewers spend 75 percent of their time with “visual” content like videos, not text, he said.
Watch the Newest Ads on TV From Esurance, Hotels.com, Little Caesars and More
Posted in: UncategorizedEvery weekday, we bring you the Ad Age/iSpot Hot Spots, new TV commercials tracked by iSpot.tv, the real-time TV ad measurement company with attention and conversion analytics from 10 million smart TVs. The ads here ran on national TV for the first time yesterday.
A few highlights: Esurance shows how its app can help you find exactly the right coverage — just like a dating app can help you find your “perfect match.” In an Old Spice spot, a coach finds something kind of suspicious in Von Miller’s locker — but he’s got a great explanation for it. And a son demotes his supposed “#1 Dad” in a brutal Little Caesars ad.

Posted in: UncategorizedSkoda: ŠKODA Jump Assist
Posted in: Uncategorized
Front assist is a clever safety feature in ŠKODA cars that automatically stops the vehicle to prevent collisions. To demonstrate its functionality we placed an image of the back of a braking freight truck underneath a bungee jump site in a festival. This way the jumpers could literally experience the sensation of this feature without actually being in real danger. With ŠKODA Jump Assist we managed to stand out amongst the overwhelming amount of festival sponsorships, present ŠKODA as a cool brand amongst youth which was long overdue, and deliver our message in a moment that they won’t soon forget.
