Bud Light Wins Colorado Town Approval for 'Whatever, USA' Takeover
Posted in: UncategorizedBud Light’s town takeover ad stunt has survived, after a little cash infusion.
The Crested Butte, Colo. town council on Thursday evening unanimously approved a special event application that will convert the mountain community into a giant Bud Light-branded party the weekend of Sept. 5-7.
The approval, which was reported by local media including the Denver Post, came despite opposition from some residents who complained about the secrecy of the marketing stunt, which was negotiated behind closed doors by town officials. People also were upset about being inconvenienced by the event, which will rebrand the town as “Whatever, USA” for the weekend. But other residents supported the event, which will use the town as a stage for a national ad shoot.

‘Johnny Football’ Goes Lululemon in Snicker’s Spot
Posted in: UncategorizedSince this is pre-football week, here’s a BBDO ad for Snickers that tells us that Johnny Manziel is trying to improve upon his personal “brand” after a rough start.
Rather than simply sweating because he didn’t get picked until the 22nd round of the draft, he’s sweating here because he has yet to meet his daily calorie count.
Manziel also stars in a new Nissan ad launched today, but we have to wonder whether he will become the celebrity he was born to be given the fact that he’ll be watching the season opener from the sidelines.
Maybe he just needs to serve as the butt of the joke in his next ad.
