Ebara Vegetable Pickling Base: Funfair in Your Mouth

Objective & Strategy:
Ebara, Japan’s leading vegetable pickling base is slipping in popularity and sales with younger generation families. Ebara wanted to engage new mom’s attention to the fact that Ebara’s sauce can make vegetables more delicious. Our Strategy was to go where kids are, amusement parks, and give them a very uniquely interact experience with vegetables as the heroes.

Creative Solution:
Introducing “FUNFAIR IN YOUR MOUTH” a new attraction inside the amusement park where children can eat vegetables in a way they never experienced before. We’ve invented a virtual reality device that triggers illusions in your brain with “bone conduction technology”. When biting into a cucumber or carrot, children can have the experience that FIREWORKS ARE EXPLODING above them or a DINOSAUR IS ROARING behind them or they are ON A ROLLER COASTER. The brain perceives the conduction, transferred via the teeth and tongue, as a sound signal. This encouraged kids to put the vegetables they hate inside their mouths. Parents feedback was very positive to have their kids enjoying vegetables in a fun way.

Results:
Over 90,000 visits during 2 days. The PR that we received through TV shows, Newspaper and Web articles combined was an estimated Japanese ¥75,000,000 cost.

Novo Nordisk Gulf Action on Diabetes Screening Campaign: Fingers to Diabetes

PROBLEM Qatar has the 8th highest rate of diabetes globally where 1 in the 3 people don’t even know they have it. Most of them are too frightened to take the test because they have fear of needles. Novo Nordisk Gulf wanted to create awareness on the importance of screening and encourage people in Qatar to get tested. 

IDEA We invited people to give a finger to diabetes on world diabetes day in exchange of their own finger portrait. Using only Facebook, we used key influencers to spread the word by changing their profile picture to their unique branded finger portraits. At the event special tents with professional artists took a photo of the fingers and created the participants finger portraits on site. These portraits were then uploaded on our microsite www.fingers2diabetes.com where people could download them as profile picture using a special link. This created an effective social media branded content through facebook users. Moreover, people were able to choose famous fingers to join them in a cover page picture. 

RESULTS In only 3 days, with no advertising and using only facebook as a channel, over 1500 people got screened for diabetes. A 20% increase from the year before with 10,524 website unique visits and over 50% of people taking part changed their profile pictures. So in the end, we didn’t only encourage people to get tested but they gave a finger to diabetes with a smile.

Mother’s Christmas project has been designed to stick two fingers up at homophobia in Russia.

The Russian LGBT community is facing increasingly harsh treatment at the hands of authorities. Attacks on gay people are rising, in a country where homosexuality has been classified as a mental illness since 1999. In short, the Russian gay community needs help. So, this Christmas, Mother is sending something To Russia With Love.

The agency has created seven limited edition, hand-painted sets of Russian nesting dolls featuring artist’s renders of five gay British icons: Elton John, George Michael, Stephen Fry, Graham Norton and Tom Daley.

The dolls will be auctioned online at www.torussiawithlove.co.uk between the 13th and 22nd of December to raise money for The Kaleidoscope Trust and their work with the Russian gay community.

Which is exactly the sort of thing that could get you arrested in Russia.

Over Christmas, Mother will deliver a set of dolls to the Russian Embassy in London and The Kremlin as an act of solidarity with the gay community in Russia.
